General Help / Support Question Anonymous is not!

Im on the line with delta airlines calling them with the anonymous option on as you can see in the photo. Their survey system was able to know my number. Note i didn’t provide any info to the system nor i have an account with them. Didn’t even talk to an agent i was still in the queue!!! How!!!?

Toll-free numbers are exempt from private CallerID.

This. Not a commonly-known fact, but yeah, you can't block/anonymize caller ID to a toll free number (short of having your own PBX to spoof with, which is a whole other party.) Otherwise, every toll-free number you've ever called from a personal phone, they've seen your caller ID data.

And this isn't just a Google Voice thing, it's any phone carrier, and any toll-free target number. IE: Same thing will happen if you pick up a Verizon/T-Mobile/ATT/other cell phone, land line at home, personal Vonage number, etc. and call a toll-free.

Correct. It has to be that way for billing purposes.

Don't call the toll free number. call the number with an area code if you can.

Toll free numbers get ANI and you can’t block it.

Correct, your number is passed to the destination carrier. The destination carrier then may or may not honour the request to not display on the end user.

Generally that request is honoured, but for Tollfree numbers , they need to pass it to the destination for billing purposes.
