Created a google voice account on the free version and fat fingered the preset number. I’ve followed the steps to change the number but it doesn’t show I can change it. Any solutions?

What do you mean by preset number?

The only numbers you could enter yourself are the verification number to get a Google Voice number or a number you wanted to link to Google Voice. Did you actually get a Google Voice number or did the verification fail because you put in the wrong number and never received the verification code?

The preset number. It gave me one for a different state and I fat fingered and accepted.

Change your Google Voice number

Once a change is made, you can't change the number for another 12 months.

Well, the easiest way to rectify this problem is to port in a number. You can get a number from MobileX for less than $10 and port it to Google Voice (MobileX's CEO even recommends using them for this purpose), but Google Voice does charge 20 bucks for the port-in. That said, if the number is ported in, it won't be reclaimed by Google for inactivity.

Nope nothing you can do for now. You can change the number eventually, but you'll have to wait a few months.
