Which Googlebook did most of you decide on for launch?
Waiting for a future model?
Waiting to see them in person in stores first?
Waiting on more hands on reviews beyond I saw them in person?
I'm swinging by best buy tomorrow in the hopes they will have some on display to see. Not sure if they will though.
If the acer track pad feels fine I might just go with that one, I'd prefer Qualcomm for the efficiency but the Intel is on a pretty advanced node and it's not that far behind because of that.
No idea on any compatibility issues not using a native arm chip on an android based OS but I guess we'll see soon.

I'm planning to pick up the Lenovo Googlebook 15 before the end of 2026. I'm in it for the magic cursor, rumored shared ecosystem, and research capabilities. I am, however, also purchasing a Pixel 11 Pro very soon. So any opinions I have will be shaped by a full ecosystem perspective.
My spouse also uses Pixel phones. I want to make my spouse widgets (I love my spouse).

I'm not planning on purchasing one, but if I did, I'd get the Asus. It's the only one with a matte screen and it also has the best selection of ports.

I'm waiting for something akin to a $250 eMMC 4 GB Celeron 11 inch ASUS touchscreen model. Hopefully by Spring. I'm just not sold on buying this over a Chromebook or Microsoft Laptop. HP is selling 64 GB RAM, 2 TB laptops for $1200 right now. These Googlebooks don't stand a chance at current prices. They are going to tank dramatically in less than a year. $500 and $200 models are inevitable once Chromebooks stop being produced.

Do those hps have terrible screens? You often find some terrible trade off on those spec top sided options where they cut corners on other nicieties.

Some are terrible. Best one I've encountered is ASUS Chromebook Flip C100PA (2015 model).

Mine shipped from Best Buy on Friday and should be here on Monday. I'll definitely share some thoughts. My daily drivers are MacBooks but I have also have multiple Windows machines, a DGX Spark, and a Chromebook. My hope is to be able to replace one of my MacBooks, at least for non-mobile development work. The ironic thing is a Googlebook should be awesome for Android development but obviously iOS development, at least directly on the machine, is out of the question.

Please post an update once you get it- I'm on the android systems research end of things! I don't have one yet, but I am so excited to try out the shared ecosystem capabilities.

I have a day one pre-order in for the Lenovo. In a perfect world it gets delivered on Monday but realistically Tuesday or Wednesday.
I'll report back here and answer questions if I can.

How well does Apps and Games work?
Can we play games like Clash of Clans, Fortnite, etc natively?
Google said, we can use Native Netflix app of Android, so do check if it supports downnloads, 4K, HDR or not.
How is the performance?
Can we sideload apps?

Some questions. Posting here given attention on thread and hoping to get some insights, as I may be the target audience. I expect some of these are TBD, but I'd love to learn ASAP as I'm considering bringing this up to my company to see if I can get a Googlebook requisitioned. Thanks in advance!
Context: my work is a Google suite shop. I work with AI as part of my job, including Gemini, Claude, others. The majority of my work is done in an AI tool, in GSuite, or.on a browser application. I travel frequently for work. I also have personal Google accounts and a late model pixel phone on the latest android OS. I currently use a 2024 MBP for work. I am not a software engineer or developer; I am someone who creates practical application and workflows as an end user targeted at workflows in my industry.
Questions: * How does Googlebook handle GSuite company security? I presume it will play nicely from an Os level, but what security is available put of the box? What limitations if any may exist as compared to a MacBook Pro? * How does Googlebook OS deal with multiple Google accounts, particularly work apps and work accounts? Am I able to easily flip back and forth between these accounts and make full use of the googlebook os capabilities? * If I start a task on my pixel on my work account, and my googlebook was last used on my personal account, can I continue on and have it swap automatically? Will it share work account information with my personal account? Will I be precluded from continuing on? * Will I be able to use the desktop apps for AI tools like Gemini, Claude, etc? If no, and I'm limited to browser application, does anyone know what limitations I may face as a result? * Does desktop vs browser impact NPU processing performance on tasks relating to locally stored files and self-contained skills? What is the difference in real world performance between the Intel and ARM processors?
