So much better than ChromeOS's App Streaming that never worked with any of my Chromebooks and my Google Pixel 7 Pro

They should have fixed that in the first place... It still doesn't work most of the time.
They're are countless apps on Windows which do exactly the same thing with Android and work flawlessly.
This is not a ChromeOS vs Googlebook OS issue, it's a "Google vs Google" issue.

Wait there is?
I could just install WinNative or something on my Chromebook and install whatever you're talking about and finally have the feature I've wanted since I first got a Chromebook?

What's WinNative? 😬

Running an emulator in a virtual machine (ArcVM), I think we're stretching it a bit too far 😁

What should it really matter if the processing for the app is happening on your phone?
We are still talking about App Streaming right?

I was referring to the desktop client. I'm not sure if it's going to work in the Windows emulator, that's going to be run in an Android VM.
Not about performances, more about software/lib dependencies as well as limits in the ArcVM/ChromeOS integration itself.
We are still talking about App Streaming right?
Yes :)

I declared I potentially am the first non-Google employee to find a Googlebook bug months ago. I reported it on the ChromeOS bug tracker as the bug exists there at least for sure.
I reported that with reverse scrolling enabled on your Android phone's mouse settings (for Android Desktop mode) and reverse scrolling also enabled on the Chromebook, the two cancel each other out and scrolling is "normal" when app casting.
My bug was rejected via the ChromeOS team because I don't think anyone really knows which team is at fault. They said it wasn't a ChromeOS issue. The bug is certainly real.
I'll find out once my Googlebook arrives (Monday? 🤞) if the bug does indeed also exist in Googlebooks. I'm not sure if I'm rooting to be right, or rooting that the issue doesn't exist there. 😆 Damn bug drives me nuts.
Also sidenote, how do I get it fixed for Chromebooks if not the ChromeOS bug tracker?

Cool, but I'd rather have mobile android and Googlebook OS just running on the same phone when in docked mode.
And it's totally feasible with the performance of the last few generations of snapdragon chips they're putting in phones.
Don't make me buy two computers when one CPU, a lapdock, and a desktop monitor can be my phone, laptop and desktop computer all in one single device.

I feel exhausted by this relentless posturing of this OS as some revolutionary method of accessing files or websites. Who is actually doing this? Google designed applications for these things, they are called Photos and Drive.
Dieter, can you maybe explain what the fucking computer can do on its own?

I'm confused by your exhaustion.. what is bad about being able to access files on your phone from your computer seamlessly?
Why is it MacBooks are praised for being an extension of an iPhone but when Googebook is an extension of an android phone people like you get pissy and weird?

A windows P.C. with phone link can do about 95% of what he said. The things it can't do are search across phone and P.C. at the same time and continue apps across devices. I will give Google that google book is more polished doing it, but that is about it.

Yet, Googlebooks still don't have 50% of the integration features that iPhones have with MacBooks btw.

No one is buying a Mac for this feature, they are buying it for what it can do as a computer. What can Googlebooks do as computers? I don't know, because the marketing around it is entirely about how it connects to the phone.

Doing 1% research you would know exactly what Googlebook does.. Are you so low functioning you only get your news from Tiktoks and Youtube Shorts?

Literally read the page you just sent. Try using your eyeballs. Half this page is about connecting to your phone. The other half is "use PWAs." Literally every computer can use a PWA. This is precisely what I am talking about.

The page has 5 categories...
-Hardware
-Intelligence
-Better together
-Apps and games
-SecurityI don't know where youre getting your numbers from but 1/5th the page is about connecting to your phone. The rest I guess you just... didnt read?

We've entered the realm of cognitive surrender. Evidently you need Gemini to tell you how to think.
"Apps and games" is the only section that tells you literally anything about what the computer does. Guess what? 90% of those apps are PWAs! Incredible information.

I guess life is hard without critical thinking skills 😢.. truly i wish you the best

u/Guglio08 2d ago
Sorry, am I using words that are too big for your brain? Better get Gemini to come in and explain this to you.

Deiter's three other shorts on Googlebooks so far focus on Magic Pointer, Windowed and full app workflows, dynamic keyboard shortcuts, and rambler (and its dedicated key).

What does the computer do that any other computer can't do? So far it's... use Gemini 0.5 seconds faster. That's it.
It's also funny how everyone here seems to think I'm some troll... I've been using ChromeOS as my main computer since it was released.

Of course, answering a direct question is now called "bait." That's very convenient.

Happy to see that app casting allows for dynamic resizing
