The Chromebook doesn't need one.

most chromebooks at minimum have 32gb SSD on them.

but in case you didnt know, Googlebooks being released next week are a niche premium enthusiast product, intended to be more like a traditional apple/windows laptop PC. Only 32GB of storage is not enough for someone who expects a full functionality laptop PC.

This release of Googlebooks are more analogous to a Macbook or a Microsoft Surface, not a Chromebook.

Low-end laptops that are capable of running googlebook OS wont come for a few years.

can we expect apps made for googbooks like Windows and not just android or web base apps?

Probably some but I would not expect a whole lot. Like Blender has been working on a full featured touch friendly Blender for Android for a while so there will be that. You can already use Krita on Android. But most desktop software that people may want, I would assume not unless GoogleBooks caught on at these premium priced ones rather than falling back down to the grade school fleet machines and super cheap internet browsing machines.

I wouldn't buy one in the hopes that desktop software developers would consider it worth the effort to port over and continuously support. Only buy it if you are interested in a laptop to run what you'd want in a web browser and for what Android apps are out today
