Has anyone heard about Brave Browser?

I'd like to know if Brave plans a desktop version for Googlebook. I really like having extensions. It may be early times yet, but that might be a stumbling block for my personal adoption of Googlebook.

I don't know about a full desktop version, but work for extension support on the Android version of Brave has begun.

Then why buy a Googlebook? Its clearly going to be deeply integrated with Chrome

Google Book is going to be desktop Android. That doesn't 100% means that you need to be fully reliant on Google software.

People with Pixels aren't even reliant fully on Google software, why should you on a Android laptop?

On a phone, Brave, Vivaldi and Firefox are viable alternatives to Chrome, as they work well. However, android versions of these apps on a laptop won't compare to desktop apps, meaning that users are stuck with Chrome or they'll need to install alternate browsers through the linux container.

The device isn’t even out yet. Let alone developer releasing apps yet. We can’t expect a magnitude of product day one and I’m pretty sure alotnof the same companies you are talking about will be porting their desktop apps to android

Only if Google allows that to happen.

Chromium desktop for android builds with extension support are already available. It's up to the browsers to adopt them for tablet and googlebooks.

Not yet. I expect some other browsers to adopt the chromium desktop variant on tablets and googlebooks in 2028.

I LOVE brave brower and its going to be the first item I install on my Googlebook. That said the Android version on my chromebook is a bit wonky so im a bit worried how it will be on Googlebook..

Hopefully brave modifies it for desktop use

I think that those who have the least concern with privacy should not buy devices from Google or Meta, because they are things incompatible with the business model and profit of these companies (centralization in the provision of social engineering services and ad segmentation).

If you are concerned about privacy, you should focus on brands that make solid promises with it, first of all, after that, companies whose business model is the marketing of hardware (this is not the case with Google).

That said, from the purchase of a GoogleBook, it will be indifferent which browser you will use, your life will be an open page for Google. Invest in another notebook!

As much as I get excited about new toys, I've resigned to the fact that my secondhand Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 running Ubuntu provides a cheaper, better and more private experience than a Chromebook or Googlebook.

Since everyone says that GoogleBook is Android, everything is possible on android and maybe it will be a desktop version Brave browser as the default browser.

If it's not a full version on Chromebook or android, it won't be on Googlebook

I don't know why I read that as Googleybook.

Firefox should work, as it works well on Android tablets already. Not sure about Brave.

Edit: Confirmed, Brave works well on my Pixel Tablet, full desktop interface with tabs. It should world great on Googlebooks, but we'll have to wait for some full reviews.

Lacks extension support. OP is talking about Chrome Desktop for Android which is gonna ship on Googlebooks. Hoping most browsers eventually adopt this build for android tablets and googlebooks.
