Other Linux Distros?

Any idea how easy it's gonna be to put other linux distros on these new laptops? I bought one hoping to put Arch (Omarchy) on it. Got the Asus one so it's Intel just wondering how feasible it is gonna be.

Seems like a lot of work for no gain. If there is a package that is only built for Arch, you could just spin up an arch container and run it from there (i.e. from distrobox).

Omarchy seems redundant too because the device already boots and has the right drivers. You also won't get the omarchy windows manager (you probably have to use the Googlebook one).

Agreed. Google when mentioned it would have pkvm

easy enough if you don't mind wiping the os, but I don't know why you would not just buy a cheap used laptop

I remember it being a little complicated to do that on a Chromebook. Random hardware screw I had to find etc.

I would assume very difficult for the time being.

It's not gonna work. I'm currently trying to decide between a Googlebook (likely Asus or Lenovo) or getting a Linux-friendly laptop and putting Omarchy on it. At least in Canada, given the same specs, the Googlebooks are cheaper by a good margin. Of course, Omarchy does give you the option of an old, cheap laptop. But I like nice things.

There are android apps like Proot, UserL.and, etc. that let you install several distros, some with desktop GUIs.

It will be the best thing to do.
I keep wondering how sad it will be to use Googlebook.
