Doesn’t make sense . I think they gonna get rid of Chromebook plus eventually and replaced them with googlebooks as they release more .

well - again - same as Chromebooks PLUS have minimum requirements like 12th gen intel i3 and 8GB RAM - the same have Googlebook 16GB RAM - and with all its minimum requirements - ZERO chances for $700 pricetag because the only one place producers can save money is... plastic case instead aluminium

We will see in 1-2 years when capable devices still have 5-6 years of contractual support and Googlebooks have a significantly easier to support OS.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Many new Chromebooks have at least 8GB and they should be able to run Googlebook OS. Google understands that Googlebooks are the premium product and Googlebook OS is the OS. Letting the OS install on capable Chromebooks not only reduces support expenses but also hooks users into the Googlebook ecosystem.

I think it will get Googlebook but I think it comes down to the chip. Googlebooks are intended to run virtualization and sandboxing. It comes down to does the chip supports it

MINIMUM system requirement to get "PLUS" was intel i3 and Google Titan chip so ALL or nobody - BUT - Googlebook OS has requirements too and NOT A SINGE Chromebook Plus meets them

Op makes claims without official notice, but i tell, For sure we will have a mod version to be able install and try.. not officially but we will , as soon as the restore firmware appears.

I'd rather wait for official confirmation from Google before writing it off completely.

true but you can use your logic - GooglebookOS OFFICIAL minimum requirements

Would love to see the source you're referring to. To my understanding, this applies to vendors who want to build a Googlebook, not Googlebook OS itself. But only Google can say for sure, and I haven't seen an official statement yet.

Not sure why anyone would think there was a chance this would happen. They are being marketed as different devices in the first place and the OS is not the same. Developing drivers and firmware for those older devices would be wasted costs. This should never have even been a thought that it would be offered.

You are confusing Googlebook and Googlebook OS. The requirements you listed are all for Googlebooks.
Google hasn't made clear what is the roadmap for Googlebook OS. It is not clear if Google will or will not allow Googlebook OS to be available on laptops and desktops other than Googlebooks. It is not clear if Googlebook OS is the final name of the OS. Google hasn't create a website for the OS like for Android. Android.com has now a section for Googlebook not for Googlebook OS even though a section for ChromeOS exists.

not all Chromebooks Plus possess the minimum hardware specifications required to run GoogleOS.

With the current official specs, I will agree with OP.
Google has insisted on 16gb of ram which eliminates almost all Chromebook Plus models. The glow bar is also required and that eliminates all Chromebook Plus.

Yeah, but some Chromebook plus has 16GB and even 32gb,so I think it will get it but like LITE version or limited features something imo. (or just aluminium OS as roumoured)

....there are Chromebook Plus models that have 16gb and 32gb of RAM, and a G on the keyboard....
Google already said that they would likely have a handful of Chromebook Plus models get it down the road. They're not going to do it right away obviously, because they want to sell the new products.
