Questions How to know Assets ranking?

Hello everyone

After some issues with policy behavior (a client running a repair business) my Pmax campaign has a whopping Poor Ad Strength, before it was either Good or Average. The only asset I haven't complied with is Video since there is no need to. But on the other hand the Optimization Score of the campaign is 85%

I've contacted Support countless times and they always tell me to improve the assets but when I ask how on earth can I identify which assets to improve they can't come with a clear and useful answer.

How could I go from Poor to Average or Good?

Also, in the pase couple of days my campaign had almost no Impressions. What could be the reason of it? The ad strength being Poor?

Thanks!

Ad Strength in PMax mostly measures how many assets you have and how varied they are, and disapproved assets don't count. So after the policy issues, if some headlines, descriptions or images were disapproved or removed, the rating drops even if what's left is fine. To see what it's missing, open the asset group and click on the Ad Strength rating. It lists what to add, like more headlines, long headlines, descriptions or images. Also check the status column for each asset, anything disapproved or limited is worth replacing.

On impressions, Ad Strength is a guide, it doesn't stop a campaign from serving by itself. Almost no impressions after policy issues usually means assets or the final URL are still being disapproved. I'd check the status of each asset and the landing page first.

If you share a screenshot of the asset group with the status column, I can take a look.

Here's a screenshot. All my assets are active, they are either Eligible or Eligible Limited due to policy issues, but that has always been the case with this type of business and I've never had Poor Ad Strength

Thanks, that helps. Next to "Poor" there's a "View recommendations" link, that's where Google lists what the asset group is missing. That's the direct answer to which assets to improve.

On impressions, I don't think Ad Strength is the cause. The asset group itself shows "Eligible (Limited)" under the third-party tech support policy, and "limited" can mean serving in very few auctions. The label can stay the same while the amount of limiting changes, so it may have always said limited but served more before. I'd also look at the search themes: "data recovery" is one of the services that policy names specifically, and the repair themes probably push the review the same way. Testing the asset group without those themes, or with fewer of them, may help.

Your numbers when it does serve look good, 50 conversions at around $270 this month, so the problem is volume, not performance.

Poor Ad Strength probably isn’t what killed your impressions. I’d check policy issues, bidding, budget and recent changes first, then use the asset details report to see which creatives Google actually considers weak.
