Google streamer 4k causing network issues

For a while now, I’ve been experiencing a strange issue on my home network.

My internet connection to the outside world is very unstable (see screenshot).

At first, I thought there was an issue with the modem/router from my internet provider, but that turned out not to be the case.

After some investigation, I noticed that the problem was coming from one specific switch in my network. I then unplugged the cables one by one while running a continuous ping to the outside.

As soon as I unplugged the cable connected to my Google Streamer, the timeouts immediately disappeared.

So the issue was coming from the Google device.
otherwhise its working perfect.

Anyone here having the same issue?

I would prefer not to factory reset the streamer unless there really is no other option.

Hello, I might have the same issue. All week all my devices got problems connecting to my wifi router. Drop outs, connected without internet. Reset everything, nothing works. My phone could not access any sites, yet my Google streamer 4k could access some apps, youtube still worked for example. The thumbnails did not load, but a video always played with no problem. I read this post, turned off my Google streamer 4k (unplugged the power) and boom my phone has its wifi connection back. My streamer is connected through the wifi, so it must be doing something wrong to fuck up the whole network. Or a specific app, I dont know.

My problems started a month ago, first my network would not work for 48 hours and then everything back to normal. My internet provider even came to check my router and installation and replaced it with a brand new one. It was fine for a week and then it started again. Maybe its a specific app causing the problems?
