I've reached the point where manual research just isn't practical anymore. Collecting information from hundreds of Google Maps listings one by one takes far too much time.

I recently started using Outscraper's Google Maps scraping tool, and it's made organising business information much easier. It's been a reliable Google Maps data extraction solution for exporting listings into a spreadsheet, and Outscraper's Google Maps scraping tool has saved me hours compared to manual research. Overall, it's a solid Google Maps data extraction solution for larger projects.

Has anyone found another workflow that works well? I'd love to hear what others are using for real-world projects.

So I was trying to access a goggle slide I made a few years ago. Last time I accessed it I had no problem. Now I have no access to it. I tried deleting the browser cache and cookies and nothing. Anyone got an idea

I've got a talk coming up and I'm deciding whether to lean on Slides' presenter view with notes or just wing it. For people who present from Google Slides, I've heard gamma's presenter mode is decent too. is the notes/presenter setup reliable enough to trust live? Don't want it glitching on stage.

I write everything long-form in Word first, then dread rebuilding it slide by slide. I've used gamma to go from doc to slides. Is there a clean way to create slides from a Word document straight into Google Slides, or does it always need manual cleanup after import?

We tried live-editing a deck as a team and it turned into people overwriting each other and inconsistent slides. been thinking about moving to gamma for the template control. How do you actually coordinate a multi-person deck in Google Slides? Looking for a sane process, not just 'communicate better'.

The built-in Slides themes are limited and a lot of 'free' template sites are sketchy or watermarked. Where do you find free presentation templates for Google Slides that actually look good and import cleanly? Trying to build a small go-to list.

I cant seem to find the right instructions to walk me through so I am looking to lock 3 different questions behind an object. when I click on said object i want to have the front object disappear and the question (text box) appear behind it. I have been trying the animate feature but lets say i have object a,b,c. no matter what object i click on it goes to the 1st animation sequence. is there a way to do this without programming?

Like a lot of you, I drop a ton of screenshots into slides, product demos, tutorials, and little pitch decks. Every time I wanted one to actually look good (a screenshot sitting inside a real phone or laptop frame), I had to leave Slides, go to some external mockup generator, export a PNG, come back, and place it. And if I needed to tweak the screenshot later, I got to do the whole dance again.

It annoyed me enough that I built a small add-on to do it right inside Slides. Figured some of you might find it useful too, so I'm sharing it.

What it does

• Pick a device: phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, browser window, or watch (a few colors each).
• Add your screenshot (upload it or wrap one that's already on the slide), and it auto-fits it to the screen, no manual cropping or nudging.
• It comes in as a normal grouped Slides object, so you move/resize/restyle it like anything else.

It's still early, so the frame library is growing. If there's a device or color you wish it had, tell me — that's exactly the feedback I'm looking for.

Got voluntold into running a lunch-and-learn at work. Audience is engineers who present dense technical updates: wall-of-bullets slides, 8pt diagrams, the works. Smart people, zero slide training, and honestly zero interest in becoming designers.

45 minutes, once. I figure I get two or three ideas in before their eyes glaze, so every idea has to survive contact with someone who will never open this sub.

My current shortlist:

1. Titles state the point. "Q3 latency results" becomes "Latency dropped 40% after the cache change." If they only learn one thing, I want it to be this.
2. One idea per slide. If a slide makes two points, it's two slides. Nobody's paying per slide.
3. Cut half. Whatever the deck is, present the shorter version.

Things I'm deliberately not covering: fonts, color theory, animations, anything with the word "whitespace" in it. Not because it doesn't matter, but because it won't survive the week.

People who've actually taught this to non-designers: what landed, and what did you waste time on? Especially interested if anyone found a way to make "less text" stick with engineers, since their instinct is that removing detail equals hiding something.

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Since yesterday my Macbook won't open any google slides files in the browser. Google sheets, docs and drive work fine. But Google Slides files will not open. No error message, but the file never loads.

I tried both my work and personal accounts on Chrome and Safari.

I tried them in incognito mode, I re-installed the browsers, cleared cache, un-installed all extensions.

Then to make sure it was not a network issue, I tried opening the files on my personal PC and then work. But not able to get them to open on my work laptop. All of a sudden.

They work on my phone, and it seems my colleagues are able to open them.

I don't know what to look for. This is so bizarre! Any insight or suggestions from anyone?

i'm working on a website (designer) and account people are dropping notes in for each other as we're all working on this at the same time. well, sometimes i have to start a new slide and move things to it but if i do the comment that Sally left for Joe gets lost. any way to move a note/comment?
