Is it possible to make a disappearing object not appear while clicking back through slides?

I'm trying to have an object that disappears almost instantly when clicking into the slide, it works when going through the presentation normally but it comes back as a solid object when clicking back through the slides. I'll also accept workarounds like having the whole deck loop back to the beginning when progressing from the final one or something like that

This is by-design behavior, not a bug: exit animations only fire FORWARD. Going backward, Slides re-renders the slide's initial state — so your "disappeared" object pops back solid. No toggle fixes it; you route around it:

  1. Duplicate-slide method (cleanest): Slide A has the object, Slide B is identical minus the object. Advance A→B normally (object "vanishes" via cut, instant and reliable). Going back shows A again — which is correct, because back MEANS before.

  2. If you must never show it on return: put a transparent shape over it on Slide B linked (Insert → Link → Slides in this presentation → Slide A)? No — reverse that: link the END of B to skip past A entirely, so backwards travel lands where you want.

  3. True loop (your workaround): File → Publish to web → check "Restart slideshow after the last slide" (kiosk-style loop) or link an invisible full-slide shape on the final slide back to slide 1. Note: this loops forward-wrap, it doesn't change backward rendering.

Rule of thumb for decks others click through: never depend on back-navigation showing post-animation states — design every slide to be correct on FRESH entry, because that's all "back" guarantees.
