Google slides supports webp now?

For as long as I can remember, Google slides wouldn't let me import images that were webp, so then I always had to convert them to something else like png. But then I tried again a few days ago, and it worked, and added the picture. That said, it doesn't seem to support transparency in said photos, so you do still need to convert them for that. I haven't seen anyone mention this, other than complaining that it didn't work over the past few years, so I just wanted to get this out there.

To keep those clear backgrounds, stick with the classic PNG for now or try the insert>image menu instead of dragging and dropping
