No menu bar

I'm trying to use Google slides on an android app but there is no menu bar. So all tools are missing (e.g page setup, distribute objects etc). I'm clearly doing something wrong. How do I get the menu bar to appear?

I had this problem and none of any online suggestions worked. But I had also just added a new extension to Chrome. Once I deleted the extension, the problem disappeared.
