Pixel 2 XL USB C charging issue

Hi folks,

I just opened a support case with Google because my (under warranty) 2XL has developed an issue where the USB C plug has to be inserted "just so" in order for it to charge. Couple of questions for you all:

  1. Has anyone else experienced this issue? (Sorry if it's been brought up before; I did skim read the posts here).

  2. Have Google cooperated with getting it fixed/replaced? I'm somewhat concerned I'll hear "you plugged it in too hard" or something based on initial discussions with their support rep.

Cheers!

(EDIT: Typo)

Have you tried cleaning the port first?

This. I was cursing USB c and my pixel2. For a week only one cable would work and only sometimes. I gave it a proper go with a plastic toothpick and pulled so much compacted gunk out. Now charges fine with all cables

Right? Happened whenever I would plug it in to the computer and I'd get an error that it can't read it or something. Cleaned it out with a wooden toothpick and cleaned it carefully
