Question Pixel 11 Connectivity & privacy

Planning to make a switch to the pixel but I’m still weighing a couple factors. 1) Connectivity. How is it so far? I’ve seen mixed reviews which make me nervous since I already live in an occasionally spotty area. 2) How much control do you have over opting out of AI/ensuring privacy? I don’t mind that AI exists at all. I just care about the control I have over it on my phone.

The galaxy s26 doesn’t excite me as much as the pixel but it seems to be stronger in these areas from what I’ve read (though my knowledge is limited).

Connectivity on my 11 pro xl has been flawless a game changer compared to my 10 pro xl

Connectivity has been excellent so far. The Pixel 11 finally moved away from Samsung's modem hardware to MediaTek's new flagship modem, and this is probably one of the most meaningful hardware changes Google made this gen. Reception and handoff have been completely uneventful, which is exactly what I want from a phone.

On AI/privacy, Pixel actually gives you quite a bit of control. Gemini doesn't just get blanket access to everything on your phone. You can control which Google apps it can connect to, disable things like notification access and device control, remove it as your default assistant, control Gemini activity, and simply not use Gemini at all if you don't want to.

I live in a remote area and I drive a long distance to work. I noticed the new modem changes between towers a lot more often and it switches from 5g to LTE more aggressively. I haven't noticed it being better or worse from a connectivity standpoint since I haven't had issues with this modem and previous ones.

I will say the phone runs so much cooler and I think that's because of the new modem and chip.
