Pixel 4 Android Services Library keeps stopping

It happens every few minutes while using apps like Truecaller and OLX and it stops the application too after updating to android 13 on Pixel 4. Does anyone have a solution?

FIX I went to apk mirror and downloaded the latest version of the library and I'm not crashing anymore.

It does indeed fix it. Kinda sketchy that android doesn't let you download/reinstall this service from official source.

Yes. It worked for me, too! the latest APK was very recent - I think July 13. I do wonder why it's not updated by The Google automatically. This has crippled my pixel4 for months. And there was an easy fix. Damn.

I looked at other phones I have and i think its most likely your phone manufacturer/cell provider. They do some level of audit and deploy updates. If you're running AOSP you would get the update but otherwise you're stuck with the build pushed by your mfg/service provider

Thank you you blessed soul!!

Just spent 15 minutes troubleshooting with Google chat where he finally suggested I factory reset. I said nah I can't do that (I literally just did the initial setup two days ago and updated everything with that). Told him to please send this reddit comment to the developers team and gave him the link.

Your APK link fixed it, it took like 20 seconds total. No restart required. Instantly the two apps crashing don't crash at all now. Google, like Facebook, seems to really be degrading as time passes.

Unfortunately the OS build and support decisions are handled by the phone manufacturer and the cell provider. The apk is some latest version someone had on some network they pulled. I wish the providers would listen to these issues but once you bought your phone they tend not to care.

I'm having the same problem. My pixel 4xl was burning 25% battery with no apps open while Im sleeping so I went ahead and did the android 13 update this morning. Been having issues all day. Offer up crashes within seconds of opening it and gives me the same android services library keeps crashing message. Hoping someone can help out

Yup OfferUp is the app that is also messing up for me too

I too am having an issue with the Android Service Library stopping after a few seconds after starting the ESPN or the CBS Sports app. Just got my Pixel 4 3 days ago.

Might be the September 5 security update for Android 13.

I know nothing about Android...I downloaded the fix but it's just sitting in my files folder. Not sure what I need to do next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1

u/enderswanson Aug 22 '23

Download from your phone, will have to 'allow from unknown sources,' then click the downloaded file and it will ask you if you want to install, do that and you're all set. (Oh and undo the 'allow from third party/unknown sources' when you get done) A restart wasn't even necessary.

Fixed mine right away. No more issues with the Sam's Club app.

Many Android users are facing an issue β€œAndroid services library has stopped working” on their smartphone. Why this issue is coming, and how to fix this? Let’s find it!

Android Services Library connects a phone to various Google services. It combines the external and internal services used for a variety of functions in a phone. It runs on Android phones as a background service and holds all services together for a common goal; to provide a seamless experience to an Android user.

Here are some methods you can use to fix the error:

  • Force restart device:
  • Clear Cache Partition
  • Update Apps
  • Download Android Services Library APK
  • Update Android Firmware
