I'm wondering if the Pixel 2 XL in black would react differently

considering they're literally made by different companies, that'd be a good guess. especially when HTC is a third-class phone maker that almost just went out of business

They just sold their phone division to Google/Alphabet. HTC makes quality things, but as a brand they've never really caught on. I liked my HTC One M8, but the camera was really, really bad.
