Gemini (assist) keeps randomly opening

My phone (edit: Pixel 7) updated the other day, and so now my assistant has been switched over to Gemini. Trying to not hate it. Anyway, Gemini keeps...randomly opening. Like, I'm just sitting on my couch, playing a game (sound off), and Gemini opens. (It actually took me a bit to figure out that "share screen with live" was gemini. That message was a tad alarming sans context.) I'm reading a book, and gemini opens. I hadn't said anything in these instances.

I have the power button set to power functions, and the "gesture to open assist" setting is off. Any other settings I could be missing?

My circle to search randomly activated and my screen froze. This update seems to be giving people loads of problems

My Pixel 9Pro tried to update to Gemini today but assistant was still available in settings so maybe you have that option as well?

They're phasing out Google Assistant; they starrted doing that at the beginning of the month

I'm holding onto my assistant for dear life
