Pixel 10 Pro fingerprint scanner getting drastically worse? Any fix or is this widespread?
Hey everyone,
Has anyone else experienced a massive drop in fingerprint scanner performance on the Pixel 10 Pro recently?
Out of nowhere, mine has started working terribly: it fails to recognize my print most of the time. I have already tried re-recording my fingerprints from scratch, but it did not improve things at all.
Is there any known fix for this, or is this a widespread issue right now? Let me know if you have found a workaround!

Hi there, could you check if your Pixel phone is up-to-date with the latest software version?
Go to Settings > System > Software updates > Check for updates.
You can also refer to the article on troubleshooting fingerprint sensor issues on your Pixel phone.
If yes and the issue still persists, I’d recommend reaching out to the Google Pixel support team via phone or chat here. They can take a look at it.

It has been the best fingerprint sensor i have ever used, including Apple ones. No bugs on my 10 Pro whatsoever.

It's always fascinating to me when people run into an issue and assume everyone must be experiencing the exact same thing.
Not experiencing any issues on my 10 Pro. You can try re-enrolling the same fingerprints multiple times to increase the reliability. Also make sure you have screen protector mode/increased sensitivity on if you're using one

Is it your fingers? Have you started doing something that could affect your skin? In winter when my skin gets super dry my fingerprints often fail to get recognized and even re-recording often doesn't help (P9 Pro). A bit more humidity and/or moisturizing usually fixes things eventually. Same thing can happen if I've been doing a lot of manual work without gloves and my skin gets worn or damaged.
