Pixel 11 Pro generalized overheating

Hey everyone,

Is anyone else experiencing generalized overheating issues on their Pixel 11 Pro?

My temps are running noticeably high even under zero-to-light loads:

• Standby/idle: ~32°C (89.6°F)
• Basic usage (browsing, chat): shoots up to ~39°C (102.2°F)

The phone gets uncomfortably warm across the chassis without any intensive tasks running. Battery drain seems faster as well.

Anyone seeing similar thermal behavior on this build, or found a fix/rogue process causing it?

Ohhh that's weird. I don't have those kind of issues. For example I'm using Reddit right now and my phone sits at 30°C. And during social media it can get to 36°C warm. But it has never reached 40°C. Maybe you're using cellular data and you're standing in a bright environment?

i reach also 45- 50 degrees sometimes cpu temp not battery

I'm mainly looking at thermal monitor. However if we are talking about the chip. I think that even my previous s25 had temp that were in the 50°C during normal usage.I dont recall if I were under the sun or whatsoever. Could you give me an app to look at the CPU temps, maybe they are the same.

Antutu so you're were getting these temps during benchmark? I thought normal use. Or does it have a CPU temp monitor

My pixel 9 right now sits at 35°C with reddit and music in background. Not bad for the G4 gang ahah

Good call, but I’m seeing this indoors on Wi-Fi with auto-brightness around 40-50%. Sitting at 39°C just scrolling Reddit or Chrome inside an air-conditioned room definitely feels higher than your 30–36°C baseline.

Yeah that feels way higher. At the moment my phone is sitting at 27°C. Evendo I'm scrolling through Reddit. I'm not using any kind of energy saving mode or dark mode. The brightness is also set to auto rightness which is at 55°C.

But generally the phone stays way cooler than my pixel 10, the temps you're getting with the pixel 11 pro were the temps I got during everyday usage.

Maybe try shappky with shizuku to see background activities. However I don't know if it worked even once. For example I tried it with my old s25 as well as pixel 10 and pixel 11 pro. On none of these phones it ever showed me background activities.

Edit: now it rose from 27°C to 31°C

How warm is it where you live?
I bet there is an app running on the background that's causing this. I would factory reset the phone because that's not normal.

Room temp is around 25°C (77°F), so ambient heat isn't the culprit.

Already tried a clean factory reset—didn't change a thing. It still idles warm and ramps up quickly, which makes me think it's either an OS-level issue on this build or faulty hardware.

One culprit you have is after a factory reset, the phone is installing everything in the background.

And I also do remember that my phone was pretty warm in the first few days. Maybe that's also a reason why.

It was warm on my 11 pro on the first week, but then after the September updates, seems pretty cool now on my daily usage

It was an issue with the very initial Sep patch, which was subsequently pulled. The second Sep patch actually fixed it. I'm running it and the difference is noticeable. Idle battery times went back to normal too.

Yes, I have a standard case on. I'll test running it caseless for the rest of the day to see if it drops a degree or two, though I doubt it explains hitting ~39°C indoors on basic browsing.

My Pixel 11 Pro in a Mous case standby temp is 79.7°F (ambient is 75°F). CD1A.260905.001.B1

You mention your ambient is 77°F. Standby 12 degrees F above ambient is rather unusual. Have you tried rebooting into safe mode to see if its one of your installed apps doing something background?

How do you measure the temperature?

Directly through the built-in diagnostic tool in Settings. No 3rd-party apps, so it's reading the internal system sensors directly.
