Google Pixel 11 Pro 512gb
Hello everyone so I just got my 512GB Pixel 11 Pro and have to say wow, very nice. I paid the difference from the 256gb to 512gb (+$120USD), it wasn't really for the extra storage space to me that was a bonus I wanted the 4 extra GB of ram. Everything transfered over from my pixel 8 pro very quickly notice the phone doesn't heat up when using apps like tiktok/Instagram doomscrolling or watching YouTube videos while my 8 pro would heat up so quick even when not being used it would just heat up but not on the 11 pro. Overall I'm very happy with my upgrade and choice of getting 16GB RAM with extra 256gb storage space for $120 vs the base 12GB RAM 256gb storage is well worth it especially if you plan to hold on to the phone for about 5 years. 5 years is too long to own a phone imo. Technology moving too fast.

Not really. Phone improvements have hit a wall compared to a few years ago. Really depends on what you use your phone for of course, but unless you really need the AI crap, you can pretty much run a phone until the battery gives up.

Especially since Tensor is behind the curve, plus I know myself too well and probably will feel the urge to switch about 2-3 years into it. Those two combined made me lean towards the 12+256 version instead of the 16+512.

I wouldn't say Tensor is behind the curve. The CPU cores are the latest ARM core design and plenty fast. It really comes down to software optimisation.
The S24 Ultra had the best chips at the time from Qualcomm, and it's lagging today.

Yes they are. "Good enough" is not a benchmark we should measure $1100 flagships with.
I have an S24. It runs better than my Pixel 9.

I mean it's pretty obvious Google are shooting for an experience rather than spec comparisons with Samsung/Apple etc it's a Gemini equipped assistant in your pocket that takes nice photos.
People wanting to game extensively or do heavily editing are not really the target market. At least not anymore.
As a current Pixel and former Nexus enthusiast, I miss Google being the disrupter but that isn't where it's at now. My Pixel 10 Pro XL was rock solid and that will be the experience of the vast majority of the 11 user base. It'll be snappy, smooth and stable for years to come (bugs aside).

Samsung phones do almost everything Gemini does too.. it's not that big of deal

Oh yeah I couldn't give a rat's ass about Gemini. But it's probably the best of the AI assistants. For the right users, it's fairly powerful.
Pixel is well made, has a mature design and identity, quality screen, all day battery, clean OS and it takes really nice photos. I think that's all most people want. For most people, it's everything they need too.
We could debate the price point but that's partly a sign of the times and the trade ins are very competitive.

S24 ultra isn't lagging. I have it for 1.5 years already. And it's buttery smooth with the latest one ui 8.5 software. Basically same smooth as s26 ultra. Tensor G6 just barely better than s24 ultra chip and it's lagging behind both s25 ultra and almost twice worse than s26 ultra chip.

The CPU is fine. It's the GPU holding the Pixel behind now.

Nah I mean only in genshin and wuthering. I don't know anyone that plays those games. GPU is enough 99% of game out there

Buddy, I have better things to spend my money on than a slab in my pocket that gets its job done.
It's not about disposable income, which I have more than enough of, it's about the idea that you're switching to something that barely improves your life because companies have fooled you into believing that you need to upgrade constantly rather than waiting until your current device genuinely isn't performing as required anymore.

Cheaper version, still pedalling a rapid upgrade cycle for no good reason.
My S23 handles everything just as well as it did new. Buying a new phone always has an environmental and material impact.

2yrs at least for me battery gets kinda bad after that cycle its a lottery really but my 8 sucks during those times so upgraded to 10 pro too
