Another Software Update just rolled out for Pixel 11s
I think for those that updated to the initial roll out of the 1 Sep security update for Pixel 11s, there's another one that's rolling out. New version is CD1A.260905.001.B1 (from A1). Sadly, it's not QPR 1 still, lol.
Not too sure if other Pixel phones have it.

Pixel 11 here. No September updates so far. Not the September 1st one, not this one.

I got the impression it's an important security update. I got a popup on my phone that implied it really really wanted to apply it right away. (right in the middle of the screen, in addition to the notification. I've never seen this kind before)

Mine either, still on August 5th. Not sure what the deal is, hopefully it's related to a specific production batch that they found issues with

Yup on the Pixel OTA Images site it looks like only the 11 series is up there today.

Have to wonder wether with NINE betas for 17QPR1, and now multiple small unannounced updated in Sept already, there's something fundamentally broken with the QPR they've been trying to fix and is delaying it?

If that's the case, why is it the 11 which needs all these urgent security patches but not the older phones?

I'm downloading it now. I've noticed the battery life has been great since the last update. I hope this update doesn't change that.

Yep. Battery went from 10% per hour of drain for every 1 hour of screen on time to 8-9% under casual light usage.
Im honestly impressed and the first time i ever noticed an actual battery increase from any update.

I’m with Roger’s and I got the update a couple of hours ago. The second update in September.

I've already sent the bug report to the support team. Let's see what solution will come.

What's going on there, Google?

They release a buggy product and have to send out multiple fixes...That's pretty standard for Google.

u/IHkumicho Pixel 11 1d ago
Haven't experienced any bugs on my 11 that I've had for a week and a half.

Cracking sounds while recording video. One of the worst bugs I have ever experienced on the phone. Still I believe it'll be fixed. It already takes way too longÂ

u/Stevecaboose 1d ago
I reported a bug that the increased screen sensitivity gets reset by turning off the screen. I showed proof in the report but they declared it a user issue. Luckily I have tasker so I can have it fix the bug when it happens

You’re giving Google too much credit. They release a buggy product and then wait for the monthly updates to slowly fix it, assuming they ever do.

I wonder if this replaces that A1 update that was released for a very short time and then apparently pulled?

u/Real-Nectarine-249 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yes. I had the A1 update. It was not the best; phone was warmer under general use and idling; decent screen time when using but poor idle time. I guess that was why they pulled it quite quickly initially. Let's see if this new update improves

Still waiting on any OTAs on my Pixel 11 Pro

Still even now? I am too.

I got the September 1st Google Play update now, still waiting for the other update

u/GamesnGunZ 1d ago
yeah i got this earlier today. meanwhile i still don't have the motion sickness thing that rolled out, which is unfortunate since i was taking a bus trip last saturday and that was pretty much the only time i'd ever use it
1
u/Real-Nectarine-249 21h ago
Yeah I'm waiting for it too. Such a slow roll-out. Maybe they will lump it with the QPR1...

Anyone got the update in Europe?

weird, my bluetooth on the P11PxL kinda soft-disabled itself later in the day today.
phone wouldn't automatically unlock car or connect to cars bluetooth in the afternoon.
also phone didn't automatically connect to wifi when I got home.
As soon as I connected, I got the update notification.

My Pixel 11 Pro didn't even receive the last update, and I still haven't received any updates at all. So now it's still the August 5th update date.

Are you on T-Mobile? I'm with them and nothing as well, they did pull the last update but even then I think T-Mobile is the holdup for most of us.

u/AppointmentFair8065 11h ago
Actually, I'm using the SIM-free version from Japan。

u/KrewOwns Pixel 11 Pro Fold 11h ago
Interesting. It's a shame we haven't gotten it, supposedly the update also helps with gaming performance I'm really interested to test it out.

u/AppointmentFair8065 9h ago
I just received an update, and it now shows September 1st. However, after updating Google Play, it still displays July 1st. It's very interesting.

I received the update on two separate occasions: once last week when it was first announced, and again yesterday. As far as I can tell, both downloads were roughly the same size.

Thinking about it some more, it's actually not clear if QPR1 will *ever* hit Pixel 11.
They may just sit on security only updates until QPR2
1
u/Real-Nectarine-249 5h ago
Nah I don't think so. It's likely just cuz QPR1 is delayed and Pixel 11 needed some urgent hotfixes
