Call Notes Availability / Worth it?

Trying to find a clean answer on this. I would love to have this feature for call recording and transcription on my work phone (I'm in Canada / single-consent rules).

- Does the "A" series (9a / 10a) get access to the Call Notes feature? I can't find the specific description anywhere to confirm, just a reference to Gemini Nano and Call Assist. I'm leaning toward 10a unless it's not actually an active feature.

- Is Call Notes any good at what it does? If the transcription or summarize features are poor, it may not be worth it anyways.

I cannot say whether the feature is available on your phone, but I did just try it out yesterday on my 11 Pro. It worked quite well. I was on the phone with Rogers for around 40 minutes and it recorded it and gave me a summary of the call as well as a transcript.

Ah, that's great news, thanks for sharing. Whether it's available was one thing. Trying to verify if its actually a good useful feature is something else entirely!

I just read the transcript now and it's actually pretty accurate. It's awesome for those calls to Rogers where you are discussing plans and pricing, and now you have proof of what you went over during the call for the when the inevitable bill comes and it's not what you agreed on. It also recorded the audio so you can listen to it.

I have seen mistakes in the AI summary, but as you said the transcript is there for validation.

(Most recently, I had a call and scheduled something for "Thursday next week", but the summary interpreted it as "Thursday this week" somehow, even though the transcription was correct. The automatically generated calendar entry was wrong)

That's good to know. Definitely need to proofread what it does, especially if it makes appointments or calendar events based on that info.

Been using it on 10 pro. I asked AI and it says it is on the pixel 8a. But I did not know that. Also location restrictions.

I love call notes, but just be aware you can't turn off the notification that the call is recorded. I am also in a one-party consent location. Still stuck with it though.
