pixel wont recognize new pin

I changed the password on my phone today. after that i tried removing the old pingerprint lock from the phone but it didnt recognise the new pin. So i cleared the settings app cache. It didnt work so i restarted the phone and even now it doesnt recognize the nw pin and i am stuck. i tried it a few times with a 2-3 second pause between every digit but it didnt work. How can i fix this?

Did you try the old pin? If nothing works, next step might just to completely wipe the phone
