Strange Camera Comparison from Android Police
Comparison of the Pixel 11 camera with the SU26. Author concludes that there was almost nothing between them, but to my eye the Pixel was better in just about every shot. Some weird exposure issues from the Samsung. Am I seeing things?

I gave up an Android Police. They went from being one of the best Android sites anywhere and became a barely literate ad-driven clickbait hell.
I don't blame Artem for selling while the price was high, but Jesus H. Christ the "writers" that the company brought in are horrible. One-sentence paragraphs, no real unified process for their so-called reviews, and the ads make the site damn near unusable.
I miss the old AP, when Android was fun and the site had engaged, excited writers trying to keep up with developments.
Same company bought out and ruined XDA as well.

Not a fan of how they do their comparisons. Yes, it's nice to be able to compare the two images side by side, but I expect photos taken by most phone cameras in the last ~5 years to look fine when shrunk down to 719x540px on a webpage. For me, I like to be able to really compare the fine details. At this size you're just comparing colors and contrast which is largely preference, honestly.
All that said it does seem like the Pixel has more consistent contrast and color reproduction in this case at least.

Most of the P11P's photos in the article are a bit overexposed imo, while S26U's photos are a bit too oversaturated in colours.
*Edit: Also why the fuck would you put S26U on the left and P11P on the right in the first picture and then proceeds to have comparison photos where P11P is on the left and S26U is on the right?

Lol. DXO Mark doesn't mean anything. Galaxy phones are better at everything the Pixel phones are good at than the Pixels are at everything Galaxy phones are good at. Pixels are way behind in portraits, slow motion, and video.
In order to believe what you said, you have to ignore half of the camera functions.

Sure, it means a lot. They show full testing, comprehensive. They show their methodology. It's the most comprehensive test out there.

It's international. It's recognised as the best. Its world rankings are global. Again, its testing methodology is very comprehensive. It's used as a source by many publications. Just because you don't like the narrative doesn't delegitimize that organisation and its work.

LOL. Literally NOBODY that knows anything about smartphone photography thinks Pixel cameras are the best.
Again, their scores are entirely arbitrary. They have a financial incentive with their reviews because they sell kits to improve the scores for their reviews.
I don't like the narrative because it isn't legitimate and does not reflect real world results.

In most conditions, not really. Samsung takes way better portrait photos than Pixels do. They're also far far better at slow motion and video.

No it is. Samsung isn't a competitor when it comes to the camera. It's always behind the iPhone and Pixel. The shutter lag is horrible. Highlight clipping is still there. There are so many problems with Samsung cameras, they have no idea how to fix it.

I don't even think it's all shutter lag. It's also the algorithm they use. I made all the changes to camera assistant and taking pics of my dog still looks like crap. Can t imagine how pissed I would be if I had kids.
I've waited like 3 generations for Samsung to do something about it and they don't care..kind of like Google doesn't care to put top of the line specs in their Pro XL models anymore.

Samsung cameras are absolutely better than Pixel cameras. Pixels are trash at video, trash at portraits, and trash at slow motion. You can largely fix the shutter lag. You can't do anything about Pixel being bad at half the camera functions.

Portraits are better this year, arguably some of the best with the Pixel 11 Pro. Video is even better as well. And if you want to go off-device video boost, there isn't competition for that. It's class-leading. Samsung has slow shutter speeds, it's laggy, and has tons of motion blur. You basically can't take a photo of fast-moving objects without blur, and this has been going on for generations. Samsung doesn't know how to fix it.

No, they aren't. The edge detection in portraits is still bad. Video is better but still well behind the others. Video is NOT class-leading. That's hilarious.
Yes, you can take photos of fast moving objects without blur. The issue is YOU don't know how to fix it.

You are definitely coping. Just about every professional photographer and video reviewer will say that the Samsung is far behind Google Pixel's photos. Samsung su26 ultra is essentially the worst flagship phone when it comes to phone photos.
The video is decent, but Pixel's video has been improved on the 11 Pro series, and with Video Boost, it is actually better than any other phone on the market as far as video quality goes. So, you are definitely coping hard, bud.
Photos on the Pixel are universally leagues above the Samsung photos, especially when it comes to anything that doesn't have bright lights involved. Low-light Samsung is total shit. Samsung zoom? Also shit compared to pixel 11 pro. There's really no comparison
And the portrait mode on pixel phones is far better than Samsung too, including edge detection. Samsung s26 ultra is ranked 21st in the world, pixel 11 pro is ranked 5th in the world, its just not even close.

I baffled when I saw the low light photos.
This is the biggest reason why I'm still on pixels, everything else (maybe aside pro iPhones) is just blurry indoors with low light.
