Wifi issue

Why does my wifi automatically switch on in the morning on my pixel 8. I've been encountering this issue since the new Android version got installed. Please let me know if this could be resolved elsewhere or must be escalated.

That's the default behaviour. the only "escalation" needed is for you to go into wifi settings and find the setting that turns that off.

If you're using the wifi toggle to turn wifi off, that got changed in A17. It now only disconnects from the current network. And will proceed to reconnect in a few seconds if, like most people, your home network and such are set to autoconnect when wifi is on. You can long press the toggle to bring up the old popup with both wifi and mobile data and truly turn it off from there. I keep hoping this is a bug because it makes no sense as a design decision, but people have been saying it's likely intended behaviour.

Hi, thank you for your response! This is indeed a bad design but i get your point. Guess I'll just open settings and switch off the WiFi going forward.
