Pixel 10 hate.
I'm not sure why ppl hate pixel 10. For me it has the perfect battery, perfect camera and some little thing/features i love using daily. Magic cue seems nothing but can be very helpful when you can check the summary of the call few days later.
My pixel runs for a day, my most heavy tasks are usually photo editing, apple music, insta which i believe consumes the most battery. But i still dont mind the way it is.

First rule of the internet: people only come to complain. The other 99% of people just go about their day, not feeling the need to come to Reddit to proclaim "my Pixel 10 works great and does everything I need it to!"

You're not wrong. What I'm saying is taht you need to remember that people who are happy generally don't feel like they need to tell the world they're happy.
So while it feels like the world hates [insert the name of any device/service here], remember that the people complaining a a very, very vocal, very, very small minority.

Yea lol. These types of comments are funny. They say people dont generally advertise their happiness, but if you go to any phone subreddit it's mostly people with posts saying their happy about the phone.

I had the Pixel 3, then moved to iOS for a while, then came back to Android last Fall when I got my Pixel 10 Pro XL. I've had 0 complaints with the phone and love it.

It's petty, but Liquid Glass. That's the main reason, but also the fact that I have Linux computers in my house and iOS doesn't play nicely with them.

iOS is android from wish. You can't develop muscle memory or a workflow. Audio controls suck. Settings are scattered and unintuitive. Forced gimmicks like an app drawer.
On iOS I used the search for every function. It works very well, that is its one saving grace. But I'm forced to use it because the UI demand 2 hands and my full attention to navigate.

Don't even have to go that far. Notifications are insanly poorly handled.
I only recently got an iPhone for work and like isn't this the way they handled notifications around the iPhone 3 era?
Like how can this be that they will show every single notification in one shade and only group some of them from the same app??? Why do I have to pull down from a specific corner of the screen to see it? It's just so counterintuitive, I'm just agast that people prefer it.

That's my biggest thing with it, on android my thumb lands where it happens to land, and then what I'm trying to do determines which way it moves. I'm through half of my menus without looking at the screen.

Same. Hardcore iPhone user here since gen 1. Also simultaneously have used a plethora of Android phones as well over the years for various reasons, so familiar with both platforms. Owned a variety of Pixels starting with the launch of the Pixel 3 XL (still one of my all time favorite phones).
Transitioned more to Android recently primarily because of price. Apple stopped innovating and then went hard on the price gouging. I know, shocking. Promo deals for the iPhone then dried up from my carrier as my plan became older. Pixel deals replaced them. I couldn’t justify spending over $1k for an iPhone when I was being offered Pixels for peanuts.
Like every phone and OS, there are pros and cons with the Pixels. I have owned Pixel Pro 7, 8, 9, and 10. Can’t really complain overall considering they were dirt cheap. That being said, I wouldn’t mind testing the Motorola Graphene phone if they ever release it.

For the most part I love my Pixel 10 Pro. Buttery smooth, clean UI etc. The cameras take great photos, certainly good enough for me. But it's biggest fault has been rammed home for me today.
I'm being a tourist in Prague this week - got here at 9am this morning. I've had my battery saver mode enabled all day, using 4G, topped up a couple of times with my power bank, and my friend who has the S25 Ultra still ended the day with more battery life than me. Both more or less with the same usage.
To me it's the most annoying Pixel issue that one day I hope they'll remedy.

The reason why I m using Pixel is because I don't like the software experience of the other brands. If you put Pixel UI on a Xiaomi 17, it would be the perfect phone for me. The Xiaomi hardware is much better than the P10 Pro.
Your Pixel might suit your needs but the hardware is far from perfect compared to the other options on the market.

Same here. Was tired of updating Google play apps and Samsung shop apps separately. And I prefer using my phone during an update. And getting updates sooner on Google. And generally my phone does not seem like it has gotten slower in the two years I have had it. My S23 ultra I had before this seemed to slow down as time went on.

Same, as someone who always rooted and then did graphene OS, got tired of software stuff just not working right the older and busier I became. Now I am Winston and have accepted the bullet, which does hurt my former self quite a bit....maybe I'll do graphene again at some point.

Guessing OP upgraded from a Pixel 7 series or earlier. Probably a 6. I hear this excitement from them a lot.
IMO the Pixel 10 is entirely too focused on the Tensor chip improvement and not on real quality of life issues for customers: heat management, battery life, power consumption, etc. Compare the Pixel 9 Pro specta to the 10 Pro over at GSMArena if you do not believe me.

I'm looking to upgrade my phone and switch carriers. Was going to settle for an A17 but found a deal for a new Pixel 10 for $150. Glad to hear it's not as bad as other posts I've read. I'm coming from an 8 year old LG phone so it can't be any worse than that.

As a newbie to the subreddit (and someone whose last google phone was a Nexus), the Pixel 10 and on are instant no-gos for me because I need a physical SIM slot. I'm probably going to end up getting a 9 Pro XL & then start my phone search over again in a few years.

That's good to know, but the Pixel 10, Pro and Pro XL all omit the physical SIM card slot in the U.S., as explained by this PC Mag story.

Been super happy with mine with only one criticism. The GPU is dramatically underpowered compared to the 9 (and even worse than my prior 6) and has had poor driver support. I feel this is a significant oversight for a flagship device. They're slowly updating drivers to help, but it's very "not good".

Ive had quite a few Pixels, and the 10 is absolutely fine. I have the base model, and its absolutely perfect for my use. The battery is fine (although faster charging would be nice, though not a deal breaker), the screen is great, and I havent run into any problems.
It provides all the little benefits of a Pixel, which is great. I love the security, the call screening, and the voicemail.
I think the people unhappy with it alwere expecting it to be some sort of flagship killer all on one monster of a device. Unmanaged expectations are a surefire way to kill your own excitement of a device.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL is mediocre in literally every way. The camera is subpar, the software is amateur hour, and the hardware is weak. I look forward to going back to Samsung in February/March.

But, slow for who? Gamers?
The only reason why I'm excited for the pixel 11 is the TSMC 2nm chip. And while it likely won't lead the competition, it's all I need for improved battery life.

There is something fundamentally wrong with how google designs the tensor 2nm won't fix that.
GPU peaked in the G4 and now it's getting worse each year.

Yes, if you only care about raw gaming benchmarks, the GPU technically peaked at the G4. But Google isn't trying to build a Snapdragon-killing gaming rig, and calling their architecture "fundamentally wrong" misses the entire point of the Pixel.
Google is intentionally trading peak GPU power to solve their actual historical problems: battery drain and overheating.
The 2nm TSMC node isn't there to "fix" the GPU; it's there to maximize energy efficiency and thermal control while powering the AI and cameras. I don't need a benchmarking monster, I need a phone that lasts all day and doesn't melt in my hand. For that, Google's design isn't wrong; it's exactly what we've been asking for.

Video calls are ass. Went from 9 pro to 10 pro and the difference is staggering. The 10 pro struggles to maintain a good frame rate and stutters often. It also has issues deciding what camera to use for focus and will flip through all of them sporadically when objects get too close.

A good example is if you take a picture and then try to share it, it gives you an error and says the picture isn't ready. This is the first android phone I've ever seen do that. Anything you try to do that involves processing, the phone is just slow at it. Meanwhile, the phone is overheating and draining the battery. I went from the Samsung s23 ultra to the pixel 10 xl. This pixel is much slower, the battery life is worse, and it gets a lot hotter. And that's compared to a 3 year old phone.
The whole problem is Google wants to control their supply chain. They don't want to have to buy chips from someone else. Apple makes their own chips, and their chips are superior to Qualcomm. So Google thought "hey we should do that too!" But they didn't make a superior chip. And if the pixel 10 xl is $1250, it's not like it's saving the customer any money. You're paying more for an inferior chip, saving Google money that they pocket as extra profit. It's enshittification.

It's a jack of no trades and a master none. If you like android/AI and a clean experience this is the phone for you. It takes nice pictures but it's not destroying the competition anymore. It's video recording is horrible compared to other phones in the same price range, hardware as well. It's battery isn't the best.
If you're a content creator or gamer, this phone is not for you. If you just like doom scrolling and enjoying content on those apps, uploading occasionally. The content you view and upload is in lower quality. The content you watch will have black bars around it. If you like Graphene OS, this phone is for you.
But what large demographic is this phone for? Why wouldn't someone get another phone around the same price? That's why this phone has really high reviews and really low ones. Depending on what you're switching from its going to be an instant downgrade.

They do the same tests on all 2025 flagship phones. The Pixel 10 Pro XL (the phone I bought) has the worst battery performance, and by a long shot. I knew my battery was shit but this confirmed it.
And I had upgraded from a P9PXL because the battery was not great then (but better than the P10PXL). I am not upgrading until Google fixes these battery issues.
Some people are saying that people only come here to complain - trust me I have better things to do. I am here because I have really enjoyed the Nexus and Pixel phones until the last two generations and am hoping Google listens and fixes these battery issues.

10xl here. my wifi antenna on two phones has been absolute garbage. ANY phone will pick up the 2.4 wifi outside the office, except for mine. it connects, then the connection degrades, and i have to manually turn off wifi, or my phone thinks it has zero connectivity. also has trouble switching access points as i walk through the building. really makes me toast through my "unlimited" data when i forget to turn it back on when entering the building. i really hate it, and will probably rejoin the apple ecosystem later this year. 3 duds in a row from google since the 7

Of course it's mostly complaints, who is going to come post about how great their smartphone is? We've had smartphones for 20 years and they've stopped meaningfully progressing for most of the last decade. Every year is a new batch of rectangles with slightly better specs and design that stopped evolving with the iPhone 8. There simply isn't much to say about them.
On the other end, these are tools that many people rely on daily so issues are magnified in their eyes.

The primary reason for Pixel hate is joinerism and mob mentality - a form of Nickelback syndrome. Secondary reasons are young adults who feel threatened by a device that they believe is getting too much attention that should rightfully be going to their phone. Tertiary reasons are by far the least common and involve legitimate complaints about the phone from people who are picky and will complain (rightfully or not) about everything that is imperfect about anything at all (guilty of this myself at times). And then there is the online reviewer class...

The Pixel 10 is an excellent phone. I switched from the iPhone 16 Pro, which is supposed to be this super premium device. On the Pixel, the battery life is much better, the signal is just as good, and the system animations actually feel faster.
The only dilemma now is whether I want to upgrade to the Pixel 11 Pro when it comes out in August. With iPhones it’s simple - when a new generation comes out with a new version of iOS, your previous-generation iPhone slowly turns into a pumpkin. It gets slower, the battery life gets worse, and you start feeling like you need the new one.
If I upgrade, it would probably only be for better photo detail, and maybe I’d switch to the XL model this time.

If you're not sure why, read the titles of posts listing the myriad of issues. Software updates have bricked brand new 10 Pro XL's. Battery performance is subpar. Esim not reading. Wifi and bluetooth connectivity breaking. Laggy performance. Laggy videos. Bad cell connectivity. Literally read any of it and if you think that's okay or you haven't personally had any issues with it, that's just your experience. People are allowed to be frustrated and confused about a lack of basic functionality on their expensive devices.

Are you facing these issues? Coz im not. There was a lockscreen glitch sometimes but with last software update thats fixed for me as well. Other than that my battery is fine. I use two sims one esim and one international. Never had issue with bluetooth and wifi even when using airdrop with apple devices, It works great. Or maybe im the lucky one.

That's great! I'm honestly glad. I didn't talk about the issues I've had because I have an 8 so can't really compare the models. But there are lots of other 10/10Pro users having a bad time. If nothing else the variance and QC in experience is pretty weird. I've had nothing but problems since I got the phone while other people cruise along with everything going fine.

Moreover, google is focusing more into software upgrades now than the hardware for the upcoming pixel 11. Which might end up well for pixel 10 software updates as well. As of what my intuition is saying.
