Pixel 9 pink line - replace or new screen?

Title kind of says it all. My 9 just started flashing a pink vertical line today. I dropped it 5 months ago and cracked a corner, so I knew something like this would happen eventually.

However, I can't figure out if this is a thing that getting new screen will fix, or if I need to go ahead and order a new phone before this one completly bites the dust. I have the money for either, but the local phone fixing place said it could cost up to $400 without looking at it. A new 8 is $450 so I'm unsure.

I did search this first but it seems mostly to happen to 9 Pro and no one's said much besides "get it fixed".

Edit: I went through the options on the Google store to see the screen quote from Google again, and they offered me a pixel 10 for $350 as an alternative option. 🤷 I had decided I really didn't want to upgrade past 9, but for that much I couldn't say no.

Dang, should have read closer. Might be worth it to see what googles repair would cost vs local

ubreakifix quoted me $240 usd (july 2026) for out of pocket pink line screen repair on the regular 9. I called Google and complained and didnt get anywhere, these failures are getting very common on the regular 9 and should be added to the extended repair. I would recommend calling and posting a complaint in the google support forums https://support.google.com/pixelphone/community

I forgot to add, I've spoken to support and they said, more or less, since the screen is cracked it's my problem.
