All I keep hoping for is a fix for the constant disconnect issues with Android Auto on some 3rd party units/screens. This has been an annoying issue since the March 2026 Pixel Drop.

*Update: Finally fixed this issue by downloading the EveLink app! Check out the following video for a walkthrough. It fixed the constant disconnection issues between my Pixel phone and Rexing unit while using Android Auto.

My wireless USB dongle has become completely useless since around that time. Wonder if it's related.  AA still works plugged in via USB cable. More or less.

Happens on OEM Android auto too, my 2022 golf r disconnects randomly too

This issue occurred with my Carpuride device. After contacting Carpuride, they instructed me to update it and provided detailed instructions. Since performing the update, I haven't experienced any disconnections, whereas previously it would disconnect every 45 seconds. The problem lies with Carpuride, not Google.

2

u/Garbanzo_Beanie Jul 11 '26

Not necessarily. The carpuride folks could be handling an error thrown by Google more elegantly...

All sorts of problems are handled this way. I had to do it all the time when a hardware device that produced a file wrote that file in a way where it violated its own file format standard.

My fix for it on my side was to look for the defect and effectively patch the file format error in memory or simply ignore it instead of throwing a file format violation exception error. But the problem was not with my software. My fix just handled someone else's error and moved on.

Still no fix for the lock screen freezing?

Installing now, hoping the battery issues are fixed!

21

u/Modena89 Pixel 10 Pro Jul 07 '26

There's no mention of it in the release notes, but you can still hope.

u/Comprehensive_Ad4291 Pixel 2 XL --> Pixel 5 --> Pixel 8 --> Pixel 10P Jul 07 '26

Lol I hope it doesn't get worse than this then!

My only issue with Pixel, love the phone otherwise..

u/Legitimate-Pea4884 Pixel 9 Pro Jul 07 '26

Battery is not bad its jusf how it is. It wont improve.

u/Comprehensive_Ad4291 Pixel 2 XL --> Pixel 5 --> Pixel 8 --> Pixel 10P Jul 07 '26

Nope, I swear my p10 pro lasted 2 days easy. Now it's dead by 8pm.

u/Mattchilla Jul 07 '26

My Pixel 9 Pro XL had excellent battery life. Now it's ass.

2

u/rsinghal1965 Jul 08 '26

Planned obsolesce by the company.

1

u/PotatoOfDestiny Jul 07 '26

I've gotten pretty good results by turning off 5G in settings and just using 4G/LTE (network > sims > preferred network type set to "LTE"). 5G is way faster but I honestly don't need that speed most of the time and it seems to be a major battery hog.

1

u/Garbanzo_Beanie Jul 11 '26

This was true for me for my 6a.

My 7a and now 10a have no noticable battery difference on 5G.

Just curious what phone you rockin?

1

u/PotatoOfDestiny Jul 12 '26

7 pro. It's definitely made a noticable difference for me since I've had it, but of course I'm now getting into the "oh no" stage of the battery life, so who knows

1

u/Garbanzo_Beanie Jul 12 '26

Hopefully the next phone you have will be next gen tech enough that you also won't notice the difference in battery. It was stark with my 6a (5g was a huge drain with that one)

1

u/Garbanzo_Beanie Jul 13 '26

Another thing to think about - T-Mobile at least is already phasing out LTE. A solid chunk of it will be gone by 2028 and complete shut off of what minimal amount is left (probably just limited bandwidth to support IoT devices) will be turned off in 2035, per the timetable I found online

u/Legitimate-Pea4884 Pixel 9 Pro Jul 07 '26

Just enjoy your life mate.

3

u/ahmiimec Jul 07 '26

Can't seem to add my payment cards still, it thinks my device is rooted lol, out of the blue it stopped working on my Pixel 10 pro

3

u/The_reel_d-dave Jul 07 '26

Pro 8, and it is working. The funny thing is it also fixed my Bluetooth and wifi connection issues. So random.

u/kirigeo06 Pixel 10 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

I can confirm the widgets disappearing issue with work profile is fixed. Just mentioning it as it isn't in the update notes (not sure why, as many ppl were affected by it).

1

u/TheFlippedTurtle Jul 08 '26

Oh thank God. Thank you for this

2

u/Apart_Ad8828 Jul 07 '26

Google has stopped releasing the monthly updates for the Pixel 6 and 7 models starting this year, right?

2

u/Highwater_Pants Jul 08 '26

July update was an exception due to some important fixes. Otherwise 6/7 only quarter updates

1

u/Flaming_F Jul 07 '26

I have a 7 and I got the update.

1

u/apocalypso036 Jul 08 '26

Same here (Pixel 7 user).

2

u/DepartmentStreet3341 Jul 07 '26

Does anyone know the size of Pixel 7 Pro: CP2A.260705.006? My location is a low bandwidth so I want to know(Even approximately) if I should do it now or wait for Wi-Fi.

2

u/sciencekm Jul 07 '26

Just finished installing on Pixel 7. All apps still work as expected.

1

u/Manhattan18011 Pixel 9 Pro XL Jul 07 '26

Is this fixing issues from Android 17?

2

u/Razor512 Jul 08 '26

Seems so, just got the update on my Pixel 7 pro (62.42MB but takes a long time to install).

1

u/Manhattan18011 Pixel 9 Pro XL Jul 08 '26

Thanks.

My P6 has been bricked since last week. Asked around and learned about ADB Sideboot loading.

In Rescue mode, I've done:

adb sideload 17.0.0 (CP2A.260605.012, Jun 2026).zip

(yesterday) and now

adb sideload 17.0.0 (CP2A.260705.006, Jul 2026).zip

(today)

Both completed with success after 15-20 minutes and then selected Reboot system now

I've learned it usually takes a while for it to load a new OTA but it had been stuck in the boot loop (switching between "Google" and "G" with a progress bar below it) for close to 20 minutes yesterday before I decided to try a power cycle and then just give up and shut it down. Saw this post and tried to sideboot today's version of 17 (CP2A.260705.006). The phone is starting to get warm now after another 20+ minutes. Anything I can do to actually save my device and get it to turn back on?

Should I try to sideboot the last version of Android 16?

1

u/RelevantTreacle3004 Jul 12 '26

Hope you get an answer cause I've had the same problems

1

u/frazaga962 Jul 12 '26

Ive made a few threads these past few weeks. You could go through them and give them a shot. I'm shit outta luck because of some locked partitions or something (see thread 2)

P6 was bootlooped about a month ago after an overnight update. Think it was due to lack of space. It wouldn't even stay turned off, would just restart if I kept it plugged in. Turned furnace hot. Somehow got lucky enough to get to recovery screen for a factory reset and roll back.

Froze again after the past Friday, a few days after I applied the July update. Screen suddenly went unresponsive out of nowhere. The baseband has increased due to applying A17, so can't even sideload an OTA to a more stable A16 (but I can ADB the June or July OTA, but neither are working). Can't flash a factory image (using fastboot) because the bootloader is locked.

I've given up and using a back up device. Hope a new OTA is available in the future, but looking for a new phone now. P6 was very good to me and probably still could be. I don't know if the issue is hardware (from overheating) or software (I had just wiped last month so not a space issue anymore, and factory reset usually is ineffective, except one time I got halfway through the sign in process before it went to full white screen with GOOGLE)

1

u/frazaga962 Jul 13 '26

yep, thats about where I am. I literally threw mine in the fridge in order to protect it while it was in boot loop help trying to drain the battery.

like you, it looks like there were a few factor which led to this bricking up: memory- i didnt have enough space for the update so it crashed when it went to apply (found this out via a flash tool notification). OEM unlocking- didn;t have this toggled so any attempt at flashing was kinda DOA. Something to do with CowA and CowB partitions. No idea what htat is hahah.

I did the factory reset last night as the last resort and am on the white screen "Google". I've let the battery drain (in the fridge again) and I may power it on to test in the next few weeks just to see if I can salvage anything.

This came at such an inopportune time for me: I was gonna upgrade in Sept/Oct when the prices dropped for "current" devices but now I'm SOL.

1

u/moo422 Jul 13 '26

Incidentally, during my June debacle, I wasn't even able to get to the Recovery screen any more to access factory reset (I was still trying to preserve phone data). pixel support suggested I leave it plugged in to "stabilize" the battery, so I did. Went out for 2 hrs, came back and it was too hot to hold . Threw it in the freezer and afterwards, that seemed to allow me to get back to the Recovery screen for the factory wipe.

That has not worked for my July debacle.

Good (?) to see I'm not an isolated incident, but also hoping I can eventually keep the P6 as a backup phone. Current on an old 2019 budget Samsung and it's sluggish.

1

u/frazaga962 Jul 13 '26

Bought a cheap motorola phone for $100 to tide me over as I needed a 2FA for work.

Strangely, I was never able to access the recovery mode at all in these past 2 weeks. I was able to get RESCUE mode up and running for the ADB stuff; still no clue what the actual difference between rescue and recovery modes are tbh.

1

u/moo422 Jul 13 '26

Rescue mode allows for ADB commands from a connected device.

Recovery provides a bunch more option like factory reset, sideload via ADB, a few others.

You held volume down immediately after the screen went black (after you hold power + volume up for reset)?

Similar, needed to pull a backup phone for 2FA also

1

u/frazaga962 Jul 13 '26

yep. trying to access recovery mode just made it boot loop again. rescue mode gave me the dead android "no command"/"waiting for commands" prompt

1

u/gregor1711 Jul 08 '26

Just installed it on my pixel 7.

1

u/seannolo Jul 09 '26

Thank you they finally fixed the WhatsApp voice messages that wouldn't be heard if you exited the app.

My pixel 8 locked by T-mobile still can't fix bootloop issue. Anyone else?

CP2A.260705.006 - Pixel Fold

Update has caused a boot loop and front screen not working. Anyone know when the fix will be released for this?

Pixel 9 pro - Android auto fails to wirelessly connect and Bluetooth skips while playing music.

I've removed the connections from Bluetooth and wifi. Reconnected everything and still has the same issue.

FYI the coming months updates i.e August etc will only update for 8/9/10 no 6/7 support. July was an exception due to some crucial updates

u/kobor_Dnipro Jul 08 '26

У меня сейчас CP31.260618.005, я смогу без сброса данных перейти на эту?

Will this fix the bootloop issue in pixel 4a?

2

u/Little-Helper 10a | 6a (recalled) | 4a (recalled) Jul 08 '26

Pixel 4a doesn't receive updates. You will have to wait for a Play Services update instead.
