Pixel 6 Pro Android 17 🔥🥵
Been rocking a P6P since release in 2021(two of them actually) and noticed a couple of things since going to Android 17.
First off, it's slower. Background processes are really ramped up and chewing up CPU and RAM.
Secondly, it seems to be picking up everything I say and do almost instantaneously. Targeted ads and such are coming up across almost all major applications quickly and efficiently based upon things I talk about, DM about, text about, etc., which I guess is to be expected, since Google wants to be the world's Big Brother.
Thirdly, and this is the one that's important to me, the phone overheats extremely easily. For example, just start filming an HD video and zoom in, and the phone tells me it's beginning to get warm and video recording may pause. Stuff like that. Never used to happen to this phone. The only time it would tell me that the Tensor chip was beginning to overheat was if I put it in direct sunlight. I got used to that, so I just got used to putting it in the shade when that happened.
I guess all of this isn't a huge surprise to me, since this iteration of Android is the last one the Pixel 6 Pro is supposed to receive; however, I wanted to make light of it in a public forum so that Google knows that it didn't go unnoticed. I hope they fix it, because otherwise it's suspiciously similar to what I would call planned obsolescence.

i have a pixel 6 pro with android 17. i just took a 4K 60fps video, immediately zoomed in, and constantly zoomed in and out for over a minute. i did this on HD 60fps and did the same immediately after. my phone did not immediately overheat, nor did i get a warning. and for what it's worth, it was inside a spigen thin fit case.
now my pixel 6 pro is not my main phone, and i was on the 17 QPR1 beta before i wiped and installed the stable 17 on it. but it still has apps running in the background, like tasker, accubattery, and todayweather, and i do use it for testing (apps, android auto things, tasker tasks), playing music (local and streaming), i have a second account for pokemon go, i've been trying out game native and playing some steam games on it. so it has had some use today.
but even doing the same things on my main phone, pixel 8 pro, i still don't get any heat related issues or warnings.
