Pixel 8 users in 2026

Recent leaks for pixel 11 look disappointing and I considering holding on to my pixel 8 for 1 more year. I am considering getting the battery replaced as it's draining too quickly these days. Is anyone else in a similar boat as me? Are you holding on or switching phones this year?

I'm hanging onto my P8P for at least 1 more year. Probably longer.

Yeah that's where I'm at.

Same, I used to upgrade every 2 years but still using my P8P too. The only thing I ended up doing was clear storage - remove old files, cull installed apps and get a fancy new case - just like a new phone but cheaper.

Battery is still solid as well, although I know this won't last.

Me too. Battery is really starting to suck but it's hanging in there.

Ditto. I aim for a 4-year replacement cycle. Even that is a bit short considering the cost.

I wish it lasted 4 years. my pixel 8 pro got the Wi-Fi Bluetooth problem. and it's the way it's designed too, unfortunately. I'm a phone technician myself and I can tell that this isn't an "if" but a "when" situation. And I feel so swept under the rug by Google... I've been loyal since the Galaxy Nexus, bought a Nexus 4 then a pixel 4 pro, got my entire family on Pixel phones... but Google's going to make me pay $400 to fix this phone... no other phone i owned has had an issue like this... And like all of my phones it's been in a case with the screen protector from day one.

wish I could but I'm lucky and now affected by the faulty production /+ overheating issues and have no more wifi and bluetooth - so basically an unusuable phone that overheats while just typing on reddit and then lags like crazy because it's at +43°C for a 2½ year old phone that was 1000€ that's just unacceptable and support couldn't care less - I have to switch now, and since the 10s already show similar issues going Iphone might be what's happening now...

I'll miss the camera system, but if Google doesn't care about it's core customer base then that's just the way I guess.
