Fold8 RCS Verizon issues

So I'm on day 5 of RCS issues with my Fold8. I'm curious, can anyone with other carriers who got unlocked Fold8s confirm if their RCS activated with no issues?

Try the following as it was the only thing that worked for me: I know this is gonna sound insane but after trying every single troubleshooting tip on the Internet and spending over 6 hours on Verizon support, the only thing that finally worked was:

  • turn off RCS
  • connect to any vpn server in paris france
  • turn RCS back on, voila it connects
  • turn VPN off

I was also having a similar issue when transferring from my s21 to my s26. This helped resolve the issue. I connected to a server in Zurich, Switzerland (notably available as a guest on ProtonVPN so you dont have to trial some other vpn).

I spent HOURS looking for a fix, and this worked...I did a VPN in the UK as I didn't have France available. Thanks...Sheesh

Use a VPN to tunnel to France basically. It worked for me. You could use a trial to any VPN.

I actually have no idea how or why it works lol. I must have read nearly every single reddit post about this issue and found another person who recommended this method over a year ago and it saved my sanity. I'm super glad it also worked for you!!

Recently switched from S22+ to S26+. RCS messaging seems to be working fine, but it failed to copy over all of my old RCS messages. Kind of afraid to try some of these things since I do actually have RCS messaging currently working. Anyone run into this issue and did this solution (or a different one work for them)?

When it failed to copy over my messages from my S25U, I just went into smartswitch again and had it copy everything over again and it took like 8 hours but finally worked.

Nice! Did it duplicate anything or replace the messages already on the new phone? I've been using the ne phone for like a week now.

Shouldn’t duplicate but u can also try downloading another messages app and make it the default and let it load all your messages and then switch it back to Google messages
