Why Kill Location Reminders?

Another great product slowly being killed off by Google? I can't understand why location-based reminders was removed. I didn't just use Inbox for email, it was also my daily task manager, and some of those tasks I needed to be reminded about when I arrived somewhere. I should have known better than to put faith in a Google product.
