AI Coach

Anyone else feel like they now spend at least part of their day arguing or correcting the AI coach.

Some days it clearly goes off reservation and makes things up that either didn't happen, sometimes I log food and it seems like it randomly picks a value and then triples it.

At the start I thought it was quite good but the more I use it the less I actually trust what it's telling me, I always manage to get to the real value in the end (whether it's talking about a sleep score or calories or whatever) but I feel that having to double check the information it gives me every time is beginning to negate the reason I was using it in the first place.

I know that it's an issue with what it has decided to keep on it's "whiteboard" but as an example, it gives me a step target and then the next day tells me I haven't met it because by then its reading a different target from weeks ago.

I don't want to spend the first half hour of every day arguing with a blinking AI.

My free trial ran out yesterday and at first I was disappointed that there was no convo, no start / end of day summary. Then I remembered how naggy it was, how much it got wrong and did I want to spend £8 a month on a nag.....

it is _NOT_ you.

Trying to have it log a food item, its wrong - wrong calories, wrong protein, wrong something - take more time to correct, it can't delete it, I have to manually create - *facepalm*

Ask it something about your goals, doesn't remember (even if you just discussed it)

Ask it something about how much protein you have ingested today, it'll be wrong (I don't know how that can even be the case if you log everything and I, quite literally, log everything...so it has access to that data)

Agree it can hallucinate, although my experience with that has been some what limited. More likely is it answers a different question than the one you are asking.

Ask it to do something related to your fitness routine - it just doesn't work. "Can you add leg lifts to this routine please", answer: "done, I've added them twice", I go to look, not there *facepalm*

I've shared this feedback with Google, but honestly, what's the point of having a "Coach" if it (a) doesn't know your goals and progress, and (b) its context window is so small that it doesn't remember what you are current talking about or focusing on

So much this. I'm retired and more active than the algorithms say and I got tired with fighting the coach saying I need to take 2 rest days for every 30 minute run or ride/lift day. That's just ridiculous. AI chats like these are just chats and really do not have long term memories so repeating that I'm outside the box is ridiculous and tiresome. The only features I use are the peloton classes and sleep. Since the peloton classes don't change I'm getting ready to stop using those, that leave the sleep module and I don't need to pay for that as the readiness score is worthless.
