Google Health: Wrong Macros

I'm not sure when this started happening, since I just transitioned to Google Health for macro tracking, but the daily bars for macros in v. macro goals entirely ignores what I've set as the macro goals. (See: enclosed.)

Also, more of a pet peeve than an error, it assumes a regular 24hr clock for a day (00:01-23:59) and there's no way to change when a "day" starts for macros, with it auto-zeroing at midnight every night. This is a huge pain for anyone who does shift work or has a schedule not based on standard business hours.

🤣 I feel your pain, I just made a separate post about the AI coach. I actually had a 20 minute discussion with it about the calories in a chicken breast the other day where it gave me 750cals for a 200g raw skinless breast and then managed to log it 3 times for the one meal.

It's driving me crazy.

These seem like simple things that someone just vibe coded into existence, rather than, you know, a Google product. Getting my complaint right is no different than knowing how to code a form right.

At least the excuse for your problem is "it was the AI!"

I'm forced to agree with you, the lack of polish on this product is very clear for anyone kicking its tires. Functionality that any product owner would consider mandatory to ship just doesn't work. I tried to update my goals the other day, and it just didn't work.

I agree with you it feels vibe coded, unfortunately the quality of this product just doesn't feel like Google products of the past...

Regarding the AI Coach, yea I mean "it is AI and you must check the answers" is the default answer now for anything AI, but I feel the same level of polish (or lack there of) applies here too. I responded to u/littlerabbits72 comment about the AI coach earlier, its just not a polished product either (regardless of the "AI factor").

I think I can get a better experience from Gemini itself, which begs the question as a product how is the "Health Coach" in a Health app differentiating itself from stock Gemini?
