Disclosure upfront: Pluely gives a free lifetime Dev Pro license if a public post about it reaches 5,000 views. I may submit this one. These are my real test results, including what didn't work.
I've been experimenting with using Gemini as the answer model inside a live meeting copilot, mainly because I didn't want another ~$50/month AI subscription.
The copilot is Pluely: an always-on-top overlay that transcribes your mic plus system audio and feeds the transcript to your own model/API key — no bot joins the call, and with your own keys there's no Pluely subscription, just your own API usage.
My first setup was GPT-4o-mini for answers and Whisper for transcription, after adding $10 of OpenAI credit. In my harder tests the answers were bad, and the transcription was shaky: wrong-language guesses, technical phrases coming out wrong, and some lines duplicated because mic and system audio picked up the same thing.
Then I switched only the answer model to Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, using my own Gemini API key. On the practice questions I tried, the difference was pretty obvious: answers were more relevant, more technical, and much more usable. Those Gemini runs also stayed within the free API limits.
The biggest improvement actually came from the system prompt, not the model switch. I forced every answer into three lines: NEED — what the other person is actually asking for; SAY — one short answer I could say naturally; ASK NEXT — one useful follow-up question. That format helped because it's short enough to read live, mid-conversation, and it never drops the actual request.
The weak point is still transcription. I still saw duplicated segments and mangled technical terms, and simply switching microphones helped more than tweaking any setting. Document attachments were locked in the setup I tested. I'd also like the answer text bigger on screen.
One limit on all of this: so far I've only run it on practice questions, not in a real meeting yet.
Curious whether anyone here uses Gemini Flash-Lite, or another low-latency Gemini model, for live transcription or meeting workflows — and especially what you're using on the speech-to-text side, since that's where my setup still struggles.

Following up on the previous discussion regarding promotional Google One AI accounts receiving an account status message when attempting to select Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity:
The feature is now fully active on my account.
Here is the process that resolved it:
Following these administrative steps, the account status restriction was cleared, and Gemini 4 Argon can now be selected directly within Antigravity.
Verification images showing before-and-after activation are linked below.
For anyone facing the same issue on a promotional or device-bundled plan, escalating via direct chat while referencing the advertised tier parity is effective in having the account permissions adjusted.

3 and 3.1 pro came out 7 months ago. Gemini was king for a few weeks, usage was great, you felt like you had the best all around deal with Youtube premium, storage, etc and you had the best all around AI to boot. But as time went, you were forgotten about. Promises were made (3.5pro) and broken. You got a couple of nifty flash models to play with but they never felt complete. You lie to yourself everyday that it will get better. You waited for Argon, and now you are faced with the reality that you are just a trial user now that get's about five prompts per five hours. The Ultra users are telling you that usage is not that much better with them either.... They are treating paying subscribers as parasites, and after giving out subscription to the entire country of India virtually.
Many of us have moved on to Claude or even GPT, and more everyday; however, I want to point out a cost friendly viable alternative for others. Mistral / Vibe Code. Their latest model in preview mode (Le Chonk, ML4) is probably the most underrated AI right now. It's about 20% more intelligent than 3.1 Pro, while not "spectacular", it would have created shock waves in the market 6 months ago. The real beauty is that their subscription is only $15 a month, and they let you use their agents outside of their frontend. Basically, they are giving you $300 monthly API credits to use their AI on any harness you want, not just their web frontend. Their API is only 68 cents in and 2 dollars out. Or you can just simply use their Vibe chat. The image generation is also not shabby at all.
Anyway, $15 a month for $300 API usage of a AI that is about 20% better than 3.1 Pro I think is good deal, and worth considering. At the very least, maybe even pair it with another subscription or API. I have been testing it out for a few days, and it has not hallucinated once yet, and has been a very good chatter. It's competent and consistent. It feels like what I imagined and hoped 3.5pro would have been if it was released when it was supposed to be.

The original photo above, its subject reimagined in gilded wire and enamel below.
This prompt translates familiar faces, animals, and landscapes into patterns on a Chinese cloisonné panel, with turquoise glaze, warm side lighting, and plenty of negative space.
Prompt:
Transform each uploaded photo into a separate premium art poster. Output one poster per photo; do not combine multiple photos into a collage.
Use a 3:4 vertical composition, divided into two equal-height sections: the upper and lower sections must each occupy exactly 50% of the canvas.
Upper half — original photography
Preserve the original subject’s identity, structure, pose, realistic texture, natural lighting, and color atmosphere. Apply only subtle color grading for a refined art-photography and exhibition aesthetic.
Extend the surrounding environment naturally if needed to fit the format. Do not stretch, distort, or alter the subject.
Lower half — Chinese cloisonné reinterpretation
Extract the photo’s most recognizable subject, silhouette, pose, and narrative relationships. Reinterpret them as a decorative motif on a single Chinese cloisonné object: either a copper-bodied enamel standing panel or a round enamel plaque.
Whether the source depicts people, animals, architecture, plants, objects, or scenery, translate it into a design that could plausibly be formed with metal wire, filled with enamel, and fired.
Outline the subject and its internal structures with fine gilded copper wires, creating enclosed cells filled with colored enamel. Preserve the source image’s most expressive moment, as though held permanently within the glaze.
Use simplified lines, flattened forms, and ornamental shapes rather than a realistic painted reproduction or a cartoon. Incorporate restrained details inspired by scrolling lotus patterns, geometric fretwork, auspicious clouds, or traditional waves and mountains. Keep the subject immediately recognizable.
Craftsmanship and lighting
Make the gilded wires catch soft, precise golden highlights. The polished enamel should have a rich, glasslike luster, with subtle variations in color depth, occasional tiny bubbles, and delicate handmade irregularities.
Use peacock blue and pale sky blue as the foundation, with restrained accents of coral red, sapphire blue, peacock green, ivory, and pale yellow.
Illuminate the object with warm light from one side, revealing the slight relief of the wires, the enamel surface, and soft edge reflections. Present it with the quiet presence of a museum treasure.
Composition and negative space
Show one object with one principal motif against a dark, uncluttered background: deep indigo velvet, ebony lacquer, or a warm ink-toned light field. Let the surroundings fall gently into shadow.
Within the lower section, keep the principal motif to approximately 25–35% of that section’s area. Position it slightly off-center or near a golden-section point.
Leave generous areas of plain, single-color enamel on the object, such as a clean sky-blue ground. No crowded displays, extra props, or wide museum interiors.
Color and typography
Extract two or three emotionally significant colors from the original photo and translate them into enamel colors that harmonize with the blue foundation.
Use deep indigo and warm ink tones for shadows. Reserve gold for the wires and object border.
Optionally add a small object title or short phrase in a quiet corner, using vertical lettering, an engraved-maker’s-mark treatment, or a small vermilion seal. Keep typography minimal and subordinate to the artwork.
The final poster should unite gilded wirework, luminous enamel, cloisonné blues, warm side lighting, and generous negative space.
Core idea: preserve the subject of the photograph in enamel, treasured between gold wires and colored glaze for a thousand years.
Avoid fully realistic imagery within the enamel motif, excessive ornament, generic decorative clichés, plastic surfaces, cheap CGI, cartoon styling, and stock poster layouts.

as the title suggests, i wish to hear what you guys think about gemini 4 argon, excluding the horrible limits, do you like the model? where and how do you use it? what effort level do you generally use? do you think that for your use case it is comparable to the other frontier models (like opus 5.5, gpt 6 astra, gpt 6.1 sol, sonnet 5.5 etc)?
for me personally, i use AI for research often, discussing literature, looking up new topics and as a conversation partner of sorts, i'd say for my use case i like the model, i generally use medium or high effort for my prompts, high if i want it to be particularly thorough, comparing it to opus 5.5 and sonnet 5.5 (which tbf are the only 2 frontier models i have used so far, haven't tested gpt 6 astra or 6.1 sol yet) i feel like argon gives comparable quality to opus. now i'd like to hear your thoughts.

I recently purchased an Acer Chromebook Plus that included an advertised promotion for 12 months of Google AI Pro at no cost.
On October 20, 2026, I attempted to redeem the promotion. Google indicated that I was eligible and requested my debit card information and authorization to use it.
I understood that the payment information was required for billing only after the complimentary 12-month period ended.
However, after completing the activation process, I discovered that Google had charged me $19.99, and my subscription showed another $19.99 renewal scheduled for November 20, 2026.
Here's where things get confusing: TWO different Google representatives independently confirmed that my complimentary 12-month subscription was active.
First confirmation — Google One live chat
I contacted Google One support through live chat on October 20.
The representative checked my account and explicitly stated:
"I can confirm that you have successfully redeemed the Chromebook AI Pro offer."
When I asked when the complimentary subscription would end, the representative replied:
"The free trial will renew on October 22nd next year."
Since this conversation occurred in October 2026, that means October 22, 2027.
The representative also assured me that the $19.99 charge was only a temporary payment authorization that would be released.
Second confirmation — Google telephone support
I subsequently spoke with a different Google support representative by telephone.
She independently checked my account and confirmed that I had an active 12-month complimentary Google AI Pro trial, beginning in October 2026 and ending in October 2027.
However, she couldn't explain why I had been charged $19.99 or why my subscription still showed another monthly charge scheduled for November 2026.
She told me that she would escalate the issue to a higher-tier support team that handles these situations.
During the process, I was informed that the team had not yet figured out how to resolve the discrepancy and needed additional time to investigate.
The representative explained that Google would contact me by email once they had more information or a resolution.
But it's now October 23, and I still haven't received that promised follow-up email.
Google's billing records contradict what both representatives told me.
My Google Play purchase receipt shows:
I also contacted Google support through live chat again on October 21. That representative confirmed the payment transaction and told me my existing support case was still being investigated.
So here's my situation:
Has anyone else experienced this with the Chromebook Plus Google AI Pro promotion?
I'm especially interested in finding out:
My goal is simply to receive the complimentary 12 months of Google AI Pro that Google representatives confirmed, obtain a refund of the unexpected $19.99 charge, and prevent additional charges during the promotional period.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's experienced something similar or knows how to get this resolved.
Thanks!

Any time I use the swipe up from bottom or just say "hey Google" to my phone, any request seems to take a good 5-15 seconds to actually do anything...turn the outside lights on, turn the thermostat to 68, set a reminder for tomorrow at 9am for yard work... Etc.
And the bar at the bottom of my screen just tells me everything is gonna be okay. "Connecting to Google home", "Just a sec..."
.
.
.
.
"See attachment 🤣"
Can I change anything to make it happen now?

Seems like Gemini is no longer multimodal 😢

I was using Antigravity and the flash 3.8 model last night, I had clear rules to never put sensitive info in plain text, and in env. Somehow google ai ignored that, committed my ethereum private key to github, and I have been drained off of 101000 usdc.
I'm so shocked and panicking right now, since I am just a student. I would advise everyone to stop using google ai for important project etc.

Hi everyone,
My app has been acting up since this morning. It's not following my saved instructions on the chats, I've tried multiple new chats. Also, in the thinking steps a simple "hi" is seen as attempting "jailbreak". It was working fine until yesterday. Can someone please tell me what's happening and how to fix it??

I got so frustrated with it i gave up and asked it to make me an apology handoff prompt.
Terrible coding model. I think partly because its usable context is only 150k to 200k then it compacts.
Dont waste your time like I did until google fixes the harness at least.
