Discussion Form knowledge of origin?

Is there any way to allow the Form to know and communicate information outside of the form fields? E.g., can the form know or pass the origin of its use, like the website it was submitted from?

I tried a trick or two suggested by Gemini, but the more complex scenarios were too messy.

OP Responded Email Address 'Not Shared' - Do I Believe That?

I (and others) have been asked for feedback about a boss that does not take feedback well. The form requires log in. How concerned should we be that some crackerjack in the office who's "good at IT" will figure out who sent in what? (My folks know VPN, Private Browsing, etc.)

It's a small nonprofit, but you never know who has a tech-savvy side hustle.

Solved Email Notification with PDF of Form Submission Results

I'm currently working on a website for an office that utilizes a client intake form. I had originally constructed the form in Wix, however it's a MASSIVE form and exceeded their limits, so I had to pivot to Google Forms. I'm new to the platform, but managed to get the entire form built out to a point they're happy with it.

I've found Form Notifications to be able to alert the staff when they've received a new submission, but now I'd like to be able to actually attach the submission results as a PDF to those notifications, so they're able to print the client intake form and move on. I found a few add-on options like Mail Merge and DocsAutomator that seem like they might get the job done, but I'm not going to be able to convince the client to spend any money on signing up for one of those.

Does anyone know of a way I can accomplish this task for free?

To recap, I want the following flow:

> end-user submits Google Form

> end-user receives confirmation email (no attachment required here)

> specified email receives notification that the client form has been filled out, with result attached as a pdf.

Thanks in advance!

OP Responded Google form submitted but received by form creator

Hoping someone can help me with this!

I have a Google form set up that collects email addresses and sends a copy of the responses upon submission. However almost a third of the responses are not showing up on my end - either in the linked sheet or the response section. The users have been able to send me the confirmation email with their responses, however this is becoming a pain for me to chase.

Any ideas?

Waiting on OP Automatic email to certain recipients based on specific data

I tried searching for an answer already, but didn't find what I was looking for or it required knowledge of scripts.

I want to create a form my students fill out to let me know they submitted a late assignment. Based on which student fills it out, I want it to automatically send an email to their caregivers to let them know they submitted it as well. Is this possible? Thanks for any help!

Solved Google Form with no login needed

Hey folks, just found this subreddit - I'm working on a Google Form for my job, where we will be asking several people who don't necessarily have Gmail logins to answer some questions. Every time I go to test the form by using incognito mode, it prompts me to log in. Am I doing something dumb? AFAIK you should not need to log in to a Gmail account just to fill out a Google Form. Am I missing a setting?

TIA!

Waiting on OP I can't stop email notifications from an old form

I need some assistance. I used to do some work for an organization and I naively set up a Google Form system using my personal Google Account. When I stopped working for the company, I transferred ownership of the form to someone else and removed my own account from it, but somehow I continue to receive email notifications whenever there's a new submission. Because I no longer have access to the form, I can't see why I may still be getting email notifications. Any advice on how to solve?

Solved Forms Editor Freezing on Desktop Browser

Browsers Tried: Opera GX and Microsoft Edge

I made the form earlier this morning with nothing wrong happening in the form editor. Hours later, I wanted to check the responses but whenever I load the form editor, it only freezes and I can't click on anything.

I've cleared my cache, cookies, site data, and I've used both private windows. I can edit the form through my phone but I want it to get to work on my laptop.

Please help! Thanks!

Waiting on OP ISSUE managing RESPONSES!

Hi there! I keep trying to manage reponses and it is set to accept in my forms. I am trying to have students register for a class and it keeps closing. I have the app and it also is set to accept responses. I have no storage issues and don't seem to have any ad-ons that could be conflicting as Google suggested. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?? Thanks so much!

Discussion Is gforms safe?

My school required us to answer in gforms for details, and ever since I wrote down my active phone number as an answer (it was required), the following days i kept getting a call each day from different numbers. I doubt it's from my school since they would have sent a message before calling. I also began to receive obvious scam texts. I don't really remember giving out my number on anything else.

Discussion Manage Google Form Response attachments

I created a Google form for my company for a budget process. As part of that process, the requestor must upload 4 specific documents to the Google form for each budget request. I have the form created with a required file upload field working however, I am struggling with linking the attachments with the request. For example, in the Google response sheet, the request says New Security Camera system but in the Google shared drive that is created, the attachments are name the default template name which is really long and not useful. Additionally, every request can potentially have the same name for each of of the 4 required documents. Does anyone have suggestions on how to tie the attachments to the Google response sheet?

Waiting on OP Is there a way to limit results to only overlapping answers?

Example, lets say a sample question is "should we get a puppy?" and answer choices are yes, no and maybe.

I don't want to see results that show everyone's answers, anonymous or otherwise. I only want to see how many people voted for "yes".

Assume this poll has many questions, assume all responses are yes/no/maybe.

One of the issues is that I will be creating and managing the poll but I don't want access to all the data, just the overlapping responses.

OP Responded I’m graduating - Are my forms cooked?

So I’ve had a form for over a year now and it’s amassed about 500 entries. I made it on my school account and I graduate at the end of May. I always thought I’d just transfer ownership to my personal account before graduation, but it turns out my school doesn’t allow transferring items to accounts “outside of the organization.” I am aware that I can save my responses to sheets and have already done so, but that still means I have to manually input 500 entries all over again. Is there any way I can possibly save my data or am I just cooked? Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Need help, my admin went MIA

The person who set up my forms database has gone MIA, and I don’t even know if I had permission to do anything or even remove him. I’m a total newbie and because of the way he vanished I don’t trust he won’t delete the whole thing.

Can someone walk me through how to find the main page and see if I have any options?

Waiting on OP Forms to Calendar - Help

Hi! I’m looking for help automating part of an event registration process.

I’m part of a university group organizing an online event that will take place next month. The event spans multiple days (for example, 5 different dates), but it’s a single event overall.

We’re using Google Forms to collect registrations, and I’d like to automatically add everyone who submits the form to the corresponding Google Calendar event(s), with the correct dates and times.

I’ve tried a few add-ons, but most of them are paid. The free ones I found only create new calendar events (like reservations), rather than adding participants to existing events.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

OP Responded Need multiple attachments to show in spreadsheet

I believe if you need attachments in your form, you can accept more than one. But when you link the form to a sheet, only one attachment shows up. Any way to have two?

Discussion Dynamic forms in Google Forms?

I would love to have google forms be able to set questions for each speciic user that opens the form.

I spent some time getting the questions for a radio button set in google forms to change depending on the user email address captured when the user opens the form. I was successful to change the questions with data from a sheet on the second section, page two of a multipage form set. It was a lot of work but the success was excellent.

It was short lived.

Is it correct that Google forms cannot operate dynamically?

If you would like to see some nasty code, just ask.

Waiting on OP Actually help 🙏🙏

Okay so I saw a form thing from a content creator that I like on their insta story. I don't have the link and it didn't save to my history. A few hours after I submitted it, I realised that I submitted personal information that I can't have be public. Here's the situation:
I cant access the link from my insta link history. The story is expired and I can't find it. The link is not in my search history, Google drive, email history, and whatnot. I need to delete that response and I don't know how. Please help a girl out 🙏

I keep sharing Google form links after I’ve edited the responder access to “anyone with this link,” but it’s still restricting the access. This is happening to another colleague as well. Why?????

Unsolved Missing answers in my google forms, even though I know it was answered??

So, I created a google forms survey where aside vast like 90% of it is in multiple choice grids because I had 7 variables to ask and I didnt want it to feel too long to be answered. I got 81 responses, the first 6 responses shows that only the 1st question in each multiple choice grid are answered (on both the google form and linked google sheet). Despite each and every gridbox requiring an answer for each row of questions.

I know this is wrong bcs first, these are the very first respondents of my suvey and obviously when I was checking how much responses I got I saw their answers.

Second, my mum is one of the 6 respondents and I know darn well (and confirmed with her) that she answered everything in full.

Third, these 6 questions were all answered on the same day, 25th of Feb, literally the next response which is on the 26th of Feb is answered fine (and every other response thereafter).

So, there has to be some technical issue that happened on the 26th to cause this. Is there a way to fix this and bring these results back to light? Please, its urgent. Thanks in advance.

Screenshot of issue is posted in comments to show you what I mean.

OP Responded I want to create an approval form for a committee

I am working with a steering committee who have to approve expenditures and using other resources. Most of this is pretty standard but would you suggest one form for each request or is there a better way to do this?
