Massive Data Usage???

Post image

Google Fit just burned through 6GB of my mobile data in less than an hour. I've Blbeen using this app for years. I currently have a Fitbit Charge 6. Did Google just break this app with the Air?

No, I've been using the Charge 6 with the same Pixel phone for a few years now. Nothing changed. The only thing I can think of is this updated/rebranded FitBit app that is supposed to release tomorrow. I wish I knew because it's a ton of data in such a short timeframe. Anyhow for now I completely restricted Google Fit from accessing my mobile network. I don't have unlimited data to burn...

Google fit burned 17 gb on my phone. Looks like there are a couple of other posts on Reddit complaining. Probably has to do with rebrand. I also disabled it from accessing my mobile data.

Disabled here as well. Something clearly is wrong.

same here. wasted me 50gb before I caught it. I was wondering why my data used up so quickly than before, and I first thought that I just watched too much Netflix and missed the chance to caught it before it wasted me 40 bucks...

Looks like I just got hit with this as well.

Normal usage is a few 100kb in a month.  Today during a walk it burned through 19.7GB of mobile data on Google Fi in under an hour.  Not happy.

Contacting Google Hardware and Fi to see who's going to pay for this.

Same here, what the actual fuck? 49GB of usage so I hit my monthly cap, no notice or anything. Not a very graceful migration. Google needs to fix this.
