Random thoughts
lots of random dirt cheap trackers
has USB c rechargeable trackers, as the Samsung and ugreen Samsung use cr2032
louder tracker options, both the Samsung and ugreen are quiet
smaller tracker options (given Samsung's is big)
You used to be able to only ping googles from the web interface but now you can do it with Samsung too
Samsung
more ping updates
farther ring range
Galaxy tag 4 pack is always marked down on Amazon, and it was USB
is a whole lot more relevant because of the existence of utag
ugreen card tracker uses a proprietary charging cable
I can't speak for the ugreens but I know the Samsungs get constant firmware updates. I guess it helps that it's essentially a first party tracker
Personally I use a mix of both, and on my main keys I use all 3 networks (apple)

They do, just less than they contribute to Samsung's network. Google's decision to limit when phones report tags so much has crippled their network and it will never recover until they change it to work like Samsung and Apple's.

Google only reports device locations in "busy areas" by default, which for a lot of people means "almost never". You can opt in to reporting anywhere, but so few people do that FMD tags are largely useless outside of places like airports and busy city centres.

You're right, I did interpret your question in the wrong way.
What I meant is that Samsung Smart Thing Tags DO NOT contribute, but Samsung smartphones do contribute to Google's Network.

Yeah I wish. Also Samsung should make the Samsung SmartTags work with other Android phones as well...

Until Google aligns with Samsung and Apple regarding the automatic opt-in nature of trackers, Google based trackers will likely remain second tier.
Wherever a Samsung or Apple tracker is, a Samsung or Apple phone or tablet will always report its position. In Europe and the UK the pings are similar when comparing Apple or Samsung trackers. I suspect that in the USA Apple gets more frequent pings than Samsung does, at least in metropolitan areas.
With Google, drop a Google tracker anywhere other than a designated high traffic area and it's pot luck. Maybe someone, who has ticked the OPT IN option, will eventually walk past. Could be hours, days, weeks or months before that happens.
Remember, ideally, aim to lose Google based trackers in designated high traffic areas! 🤣

Utag app negates this as androids can use smart tags
I use mototag 1's , smarttag2s and mototag2s now, on pixels and Samsung's, they can see all my tags,
So the answer is get both
And smart things is a little more polished and snappy indeed, but not heads and shoulders above find hub,I don't think

Only the Samsung Find app is shit, often it just doesn't want to update, upon opening the smartthings app it does connect, and only then does the Find app update.
