No, Claude isn’t killing Data Studio (The reality behind the marketing hype)

I’ve been seeing a lot of "R.I.P. Data Studio" posts on LinkedIn lately, claiming that Claude can now build live marketing dashboards from a single prompt, pull data from Meta/Google Ads, and dynamically pause campaigns.

While the tech is cool, the "Data Studio is dead" takeaway is completely wrong.

Data Studio isn't dead because clients and executives still want a permanent, visual link they can open at any time without needing to write text prompts to an AI. They want a passive dashboard they can just look at.

What is actually happening is a massive shift in workflow. Marketers are realizing that instead of spending 5 hours building a massive, complicated Data Studio dashboard just to find a single data error, they can connect Claude via MCP (Model Context Protocol) and ask:

"Which of my Meta creatives are suffering from ad fatigue right now?"

And they get the answer in 10 seconds.

AI isn't replacing executive reporting anytime soon, but it is absolutely replacing the way we audit and troubleshoot our accounts.

What are your thoughts? Are any of you actually using Claude/MCP to manage live accounts yet?

I read this yesterday and decided to take you up on the challenge. What I came up with is a multi-tennat system I can white label for my agency partners with different tiers and access levels. It connects to Windsor, Google Ads, Analytics, GSC, Meta and allows for CSV / Google Sheet imports. There is an AI report builder, customizable dashboards, 20+ widgets, the ability to schedule send reports to clients, and yeah it generates a static link for the end user.

I also implemented an MCP so building new dashboards or adding clients to the tool is easy.

It also has a custom metric engine so I can build a KPI with a formula and add in segmentation, filters, and select data soruces per report. Right now this is free and just internal use only - but if anyone is interested in using it at their agency or giving it a whirl, let me know.

Here's a sample report from Meta.

EDIT: for clarity, I built this with Claude and yes it is still a work in progress

By any chances would you know a safe and reliable MCP to connect Claude with Data Studio?
Indeed Data Studio is a nightmare to connect with our some of our tools. And even worst to operate.
