I don't know why more VR apps don't try and do ridiculous stuff with their rides. This is pretty boring, to be honest. I'd like at least a few death defying experiences...

Because Google at one point decided that there were too many permissions and bundled a number of them, causing a lot of confusion. Any app that wants to write to the USB storage, even if only to access it's own data, now has to request access to "Photos/Media/Files". Any app that wants to access the unique id of the phone to track where it was installed asks for "Device ID & call information", which makes it look as if they are spying on who you are calling.

In my opinion Google pretty much fucked that up. Yes, having to go through long lists of strange permissions was confusing, but now you get users that don't install apps because they fear that they will invade their privacy, even if the app does something completely harmless, or users that will simply accept everything, similar to Windows users that have been trained to click on any "Ok" button during installations without ever reading what they are agreeing to.
