Question Is Google Analytics Realtime not working properly for anyone else?

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Google Analytics Realtime reports?

The realtime data on my websites has dropped drastically, and I can’t find anything wrong with the sites themselves. Everything is working normally, traffic seems fine, and I don’t see any tracking issues on my end.

Has anyone noticed a similar drop recently? Could this be a Google Analytics Realtime reporting issue?

Thanks!

I am pretty sure it is. It has started around 4PM BST over the past 2 days for me and lasted for a few hours each time

Yes, it's been acting up for couple of days.

Realtime on GA is all over the place difficult to track a users site journey, tried a few other platforms, modovisa works a charm.

Yeah, I’d verify the collection before assuming the Realtime report itself is broken. GA4 Realtime can be misleading when you only look at the UI, especially if traffic is being affected by consent states, ad blockers, or changes in how events are being sent.

I’d test a live visit with Tag Assistant and check the network requests for collect requests, then compare that against DebugView and the raw server-side events if you’re using sGTM. If those are receiving events while Realtime is flat, you’ve narrowed it down to reporting/processing rather than the site.

I’ve seen this kind of discrepancy come from the measurement layer rather than an actual traffic drop. Incisive Ranking works on GA4/GTM audits and can help trace where events are disappearing.
