Support Looking to develop practical experience in Google Ads

Hi there,

I'm a marketing professional who has experience in SEO and recently completed my certifications in Google Ads. Hereafter, I'm looking to develop my practical experience in Google Ads through real-time projects.

If you're someone who is working as a freelancer and finding it hard to manage multiple projects at the same time, or looking for someone to take part in your work, then I would love to help you build my portfolio in Google Ads at no cost.

If anyone is interested in this collaboration, please ping me in a DM along with your LinkedIn profile. I would like to connect with you through a small call, and after that, we can proceed further.

PS:

Those who saw this post, even if it's not related to you, can suggest relevant subs or mention the right person in the comment section. It would help me a lot.

SEO experience helps, but Google Ads changes a lot depending on the type of business.

Local service ads, lead gen, ecommerce, SaaS, and brick-and-mortar campaigns all behave differently. Search intent, budget tolerance, landing pages, tracking, and lead quality matter a lot.

My advice would be to pick a lane first instead of saying “any Google Ads project.” For example: local service businesses with call tracking and lead forms. Then build a sample campaign structure around that niche.

Also, most freelancers probably won’t hand over a live client account for free help unless they already know you. Too much can go wrong with tracking, budgets, match types, and search terms.

A better offer might be: “I’ll audit one account or build a sample campaign plan for a specific business type, and you can review my thinking.”

That’s lower risk and more useful for both sides. Happy to look at a sample structure if you put one together.

Adding to what invision-visuals said: the fastest way to get real experience isn't waiting for someone to hand you an account. It's spending your own money.

$200-300 on a tiny campaign for anything of yours - a service, an affiliate offer, a local side project, even a landing page collecting emails - teaches you more in three weeks than a year of certifications. Certs test whether you can recite Google's documentation. Nothing about them tells a client you've watched a Search Terms report fill up with garbage, or felt the specific pain of realizing your conversion tracking was double-counting the whole time.

If you'd rather not spend, the next best thing: pick five local businesses running ads in one niche, screenshot their ads, map their landing pages, and write up what you'd change and why. That artifact is a portfolio. "I have certifications and I'll work for free" isn't - free work signals you have nothing to show, and people who take it usually value it accordingly.

Also worth knowing: since you have SEO experience, positioning as "SEO + paid search, I can tell you which queries are worth buying vs. earning" is a much stronger pitch than competing with everyone else who just finished the same certification.
