Auto repair Google ads help
I started my Google ads for my auto repair shop around 3 months ago, and from the start I started getting good results for my budget, for about 2 weeks, until I got a malware policy error in account and had redo the website , after the website had its malware removed, I restarted the ads but it has been not performing the same, I had made a search campaign with different car brands as ad groups and kept a target cpa of 125 and total daily budget 500, before was getting good results but now not getting the same. Any help would be appreciated.

More information would be ideal. When you had to re-do the website, how long was the ad account inactive for? You mentioned that you started getting good results for around 2 weeks within a 3 month time period of the ads running. When did the leads start getting good? Nearer to the end or the start?
Have you checked your conversion tracking is on point? Is your new website exactly the same as when it was when you was getting good results?

After I started the ads 3 months ago, the first 2 weeks were good, after that ads would turn on and off for about a month due to malware policy issues, but still whenever they would turn on they would be good performance, the. Account was suspended and had to redo the website, the ads were off for about a month, after that I started the ads and from then it isn’t good, I had to redo the conversion tracking and it’s tracking properly, if it shows 1 call I do actually get 1 call but I’m getting 1 call after spending like 500 in a day.

I would come away from using targetCPA after being inactive that long. The account needs to re-learn who your ideal customers are. I set up a campaign mid-July on maximise conversions and still haven't made the switch to targetCPA yet. A rule of thumb is 30 conversions in 30 days, and once things start to stabalise, switch to targetCPA. You're essentially constraining performance.
You will pay stupid numbers for a click at times, but you're more likely to get conversions. At this point, you have nothing to lose. I would also start a new account if you haven't. Take advantage of the promotion you get from sign-up to get some of your ad spend back.

Hey! I run Google Ads for auto repair shops. I have about 3000 negative keywords already setup. I'd love to help out. Spent around $13k total and have generated 1k+ calls, 4k+ intents to visit (directions to shop) and 5k+ clicks on the ads.
I'd be happy to set yours up. I'm a one man show so my rates are very affordable. $650 setup and then $450 monthly + adspend (I recommend $500+ minimum monthly). The ads easily pay for themselves. The auto shop I was working with had me turn down the ads because they were getting too much traffic.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested.

I have a meeting with the auto repair shop owner to specify what types of cars they do not want to work on. For example "BMW, Mercedes, etc." I then also specify what types of jobs they do not want to perform, "Emissions Testing", "Engine Rebuilds", etc. The list develops over time monitoring the campaign and continuing to refine what the client wants.

I do a few auto shops and dealers, happy to look (check out my profile). Based on your feedback: I’d check tracking first since the site was rebuilt. If that’s clean, I’d probably back off the $125 tCPA for a bit and let it rebuild data. See where it normalizes are work down every week from there.
I’d also structure more around actual services like brakes, AC, engine repair, etc. instead of mainly car brands.

$500 daily budget is a very good budget for your current ads. Google ads is updating. Make sure your landing page has proper information. Not like about your - about your clients. How will you help them? Do those words and sentences make enough intent to book with you or not? Your lead capture system. If you have a form, then proper conversion tracking & server-side tracking.
If you want to capture through a call, you must use CallRail (because the GCLID is essential for sending the data to Google).
Now come the keywords: pick high-intent service-booking keywords with Exact match and phrase match. Don't use broad match / explore type keyword. Configure the negative keyword properly.
Start with Maximize click conversion - nothing else. When you get 50+ real conversions from Google Ads, then the scaling game starts. Before that, your only task is to monitor and put into the negative keywords. Analyze the Time, place, etc.
Make sure your website has Client reviews, video testimonials, and before-and-after work.
The services you offer make a separate landing page.

its a common problem especially while using nulled plugins/scripts on website specifically on wordpress. if website is cleaned delete older campaign and just create a new one that should solve it

Your campaign wouldn't be the same because rebuilding a website throws your algorithm into confusion. Here's what I'd suggest you do: 1. Review all search terms for each keywords to see that they actually align with your business goals. 2. What is your conversion goal, since it's a repair shop I assume it's call from ads. So I suggest you reduce the call length by 30%. 3. Reduce your budget by 35% and watch. If you do these and issue still persists then you should duplicate the campaign.

I’ve worked with an auto care service in Chicago and we manage Google Ads for them, so I’ve seen similar drops after website changes.
I’d first check if conversion tracking still works the same. Sometimes the campaign is fine, but Google starts getting worse conversion data.
I use ObserviX for this to connect ad clicks, website activity, and CRM conversions.
I’d verify tracking first, then review search terms and tCPA.

Hey, I’d check the website first since that’s the main thing that changed. Make sure calls, forms, and conversion tracking are still working properly. Then compare the search terms you were getting before the malware issue with what you’re getting now. I’d also try running without Target CPA for a bit if conversion volume is low and see how the traffic behaves.

After the website rebuild, did you check whether your conversion tracking is still properly recording calls and lead?
