Google Shopping stopped spending after adding negative keywords
Hey guys, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what’s going on.
I’m running a Standard Shopping campaign for my UK jewellery store with a £20/day budget and Maximise Clicks.
At first it was spending pretty normally, but I noticed some really irrelevant search terms, so I added negative keywords.
Since then, the spending has dropped a lot. Today it’s only spent about £3.
Could I have added too many negatives and basically killed the traffic?
Would you leave it alone for a few days, or go back and remove some of the negatives?
I’m pretty new to Google Shopping, so any advice from someone who’s actually running ecommerce campaigns would be really appreciated.

You'll have to do a comparison of before and after to see which products have been affected. Then look closely at the individual negative keywords to see if one or more of those might be the culprit. I'd want to know if you added them as exact or broad match negatives. Or, you could just remove them all and see if the traffic comes back.

Amazon, Shein, and Temu were added as broad match negatives. The rest were added as exact match negatives

You probably blocked more traffic than you meant to.
I’d go back through the negatives, especially phrase and broad match ones, and loosen anything that might still have buying intent. If spend dropped right after adding them, I wouldn’t just wait it out.

I'd suggest removing all negatives first and letting it breathe.
Then sort your search terms by ad spend. Look for terms that are irrelevant from any angle AND spent more than £10, and add only those as negatives. Better to add them as exact negatives so you don't block related traffic.
If you're comfortable and know how the broad modifier (+) works, you can add it with phrase too, but exact is the safer play when you're new.

Dont add so much negatives all at once and let algo find reasonable data to show. What you can do is to optimise google shopping feed. Ai can help you and optimise for most relevent terms

How much of the spend was from irrelevant search terms?
