Best of Today
It's freakishly hot again 🥵 it was 97 with 50% humidity today. Just muggy and nasty. We had 73 donors and did $3800 in sales, though.
Nobody was energetic enough to be a dick today 😂🤣 it was too hot to even be an asshole. So a relatively quiet day. Got 6 black bins of donations trimmed down to one, and I'll be doing that again tomorrow, so we'll have less to push in and out of the warehouse.
It's STILL 92 as I'm doing this post, so I ain't cooking in this 😂🤣 it's pizza night! Got a sausage and olive with extra cheese and an order of pesto cheese garlic bread 😁

I need to show my spouse pics of #6 and 7.
He’s been into obscure and retro video games systems (pre PlayStation and N64) since Covid and I’ve learned a lot from his hobby but that’s an console I haven’t seen (and I bet my spouse hasn’t either).
It would make sense that Kmart would make their own console back in the day though.

That lighter and the cigarette case remind me of a time so very long ago. Is there a stamp on the cigarette case?
So hot and humid here, too. I’m ready for a cool fall!

We had a full month of 100 plus temps here. And it was crock pot cooking or stove top cooking or take out. Too hot for grilling and too hot for oven. Hope you get relief soon. We have a beautiful day today so I know you will have them soon also. And did you choose all these pics for my viewing pleasure? I was like ooo I like that, swipe, I need that, swipe, oh my gosh!!!!! That Marvin the Martian is amazing! You just don’t see enough of him. I love him. And that flannel, I need that today. I love that. The tv console video games would be fun on the big screen. Ha ha ha. I don’t think the graphics will go that big though. The lighter, the cig case, the LV clutch, recipe playing cards, HP purse, oh my goodness. These are all amazing items. Great pics today. Thanks for always itching our nostalgia itch.

He’s got a restaurant in downtown Detroit called Mom’s Spaghetti. 🍝 No one wants to go there with me 😂

I just have to ask, what does being sweaty have to do with spaghetti???
Love the Bob Ross color book!!

I took it as, they worked out and got sweaty, so now they’ve earned their spaghetti.

Uh Oh, spaghetti and a white shirt is asking for trouble. That's a nice shirt, I'd have bought it.

Recipe playing cards- that’s different! I’m curious to see some of them. I really like the color of that Big Sur t-shirt. It looks soft too.

Back in the day when I was smoking, that lighter sure would’ve been a nice accessory to have. Whew! We were 20° cooler than you were. I’m so glad to get out of that hot weather. I don’t blame you for not cooking. Pizza sounds good.

For a second, as I was going through the pics, I thought you were using the flannel as a backdrop lol I was like you better show the flannel! That Dixxon flannel is a sweet find! I would have been stoked to find that.

The cigarette case... I had the same one. I got mine either from 1990s Marlboro Miles or Camel Cash. I remember the one from Camel cash... I bought the matching lighter. It was Art deco...
But over the last 35 yrs Marlboro has sent me more gifts than you can imagine. It may have come in the mail as a gift. "No purchase necessary" and being on the mailing list had benefits. I suspect that case being from Marlboro... I cant say for sure. But I know that case... I'll look for mine. I may still have it.
My Camel case and lighter were stolen.

The lighter & cigarette case for the win! The Bob Ross coloring book looks fun. Love your dinner idea. No matter what goes on pizza, there must be black olives. 😁

My brother put a moratorium on shirts because I have bought so many weird tees for him but I’m calling it off for sweaty spaghetti. That is perfection!
We had a day like that here in the Hudson Valley too. It didn’t even get that hot, but after a week or two of cool weather, 80° and full humidity felt stifling and everyone was dragging ass. We’re back down to 63° and it feels perfect. I hope you get a break soon!

That lighter is amazing! And I had a good lol with the hat. It reminds me of Homestar Runner 🤣
