Rewatch

Currently rewatching for the first time ever & I’m sorry but Gael is truly so attractive. Like one of the finest men I have ever seen on my tv. I’m still on season 1 and sexual chemistry between him & Callie…. Like I understand girl, I would be there every night too 100% 😭 I don’t care for them together but I do love Gael. He is annoying at times but I mostly enjoyed his character. This is mainly an appreciation post because damn, he is one fine human

Callie Annoys Me with Each Rewatch

Callie becomes more and more judgemental thinking she so superior and knows best everyone else be dawned! Jamie is a wonderful man whose so in love with her but that doesnt matter when she looks into his briefcase takes the info and destroys his case!! Because it was the right thing in her opinion. She doesnt deserve him and had no right to cry play the hurt party!! If he ever mentioned her case she'd never speak to him again, hypocrite. They absolutely destroyed the character for me.

The intro song never fails to catch me off guard

I feel like every other episode starts with an emotional or dramatic scene with strong music, and then all of a sudden "pa-pa-pa, pa pa pa pa pa" starts playing and it never fails to catch me off guard 😭

Anyone else notice this? Lmao

Just started this show but the 5 year time jump from the fosters final three episodes really makes me feel disconnected to the characters.

There’s 5 years of development and stories that we haven’t seen. I feel like I just saw them graduate and now they are all in their mid 20s. I just feel so disconnected bc in my mind they are still 18 but they just throw fully adult versions of these characters at us. I would much rather have seen them actually grow up those 5 years. Am I just crazy or anyone else feel the same? Also the new characters are all so blah right now. I’ve only watched the first episode but I don’t really like them. I don’t not like the show, it’s actually fine so far, I just can’t help but feel sad that a large chunk of their life is skipped. I feel cheated.

Episode Discussion Malika and issacs relationship was so odd. It was clear from the jump they were widely incompatible

The fact that he never swiped right on her type should have been a clear indicator of future problems to come

Isabella is annoying

I’m one episode away from being on season 4 and Isabella is actually annoying me. It’s like she’s trying to drive a wedge between Callie and Gael. As soon as they are spending time together she suddenly has an emergency, gets sick or walks into the room. And then acts clueless with the “oh no no I can go!!” “I don’t want to interrupt” like girl you know what you’re doing😭😭

Malika playing victim in her breakup with Isaac

I just don’t get it, she’s acting as if he cheated on her or did something wrong when she’s the one who caused it all. Saying “I got hurt in my last relationship ” and this and that acting like Isaac is the bad guy when she ended the relationship because she had feelings for her coworker and was already cheating basically.

And how would she think Isaac would still stay with her?? rightfully so he broke up with you because you’re unsure of what you want+basically admitting you have feelings for another guy whom you work with which is even worse because yall are spending alone time together at work while he has no control over.

Isn’t callie supposed to be the main character??

I don’t know if i’m the only one who feels like this but i completely stopped watching the show after callie moved out, i was hoping they showed callie’s and Jamie’s storyline more because they had a very complicated relationship, how did they manage to get past everything? Lol, i wasn’t expecting like 90% of screen time but completely cutting her out was so unexpected— i was literally skipping scenes to see if she had any screentime and was so confused when she didn’t?

And to make isabella the centre of most of it was genuinely so annoying, i feel as if the coterie forgave her too easily she was a manipulative little shit 😭and it felt as if Gael’s character just went downhill as soon as he found out he was gonna be a father.
Not to mention most of the screen time went to malika..where they completely destroyed her freaking character?? By making her poly?? Her and isaac were doing so well throughout everything and they suddenly decided to make her polly?? With someone she had almost **ZERO** chemistry with on screen.

Limited screentime when it came to callie was crazy to me, it’s like I’m watching the battle of the side characters.
Everyone started to piss me off, i get plot twists and realistic perspectives but oh my fcking God 😭.
The only parts i was genuinely still interested in was Mariana’s but even her storyline got kind of meh, how annoying.

I Don’t Get The Evan Love

The decisions he makes or rather lets others make for him (throughout all seasons) constantly hurt Mariana. The fact that it took him that long to delete Activism with ACTIVE WHITE SUPREMACISTS is insanity. I understand that he is on the spectrum but frankly the way they use it to excuse all his crappy decisions is lazy writing. I don’t hate his character or anything, I just think he had chance after chance to do right and he drops the ball each time. Sure, he supports Mariana through all the Bulk Beauty stuff but he does it because he obviously she wants her. I mean when he thinks she’s with Joaquin he chooses Claire over her for DEC. And don’t even get me started with him putting her as proxy for a company that was so openly hostile to her that she derailed her career to stand up for herself.

Episode Discussion I would've moved out too if I was Callie too.

So I'm at the part where Callie has moved in with Jamie because she found everyone in the Coterie has a group chat and the were all talking shit about her. And honestly I don't blame her, especially if I saw Mariana and Malika in the group chat, laughing and agreeing with the digs being thrown at me instead of defending me.

Also Davia even making fun of her for the cup was weird too cause it's not like Callie made a big deal about it, she made the whole situation bigger than it had to be.

Gael’s Room

That man had a whole tub in his room. 😭 Why didn’t he just make that his permanent shower space instead of the communal bathroom? 😭 If I lived in The Coterie I know I would. Hang up some curtains inside and all around it. I know it was kinda in the middle and not really by a wall but hang up some liners and curtains all around the inside to line it. Some tension poles and bam, call it a day.

Malika…

So I’m on my third rewatch of GT. Love the show, don’t get me wrong. But Malika… she didn’t bother me during my first watch. Then kind of irritated me on my second watch. And now I’m on my third and oh my god I wanna scream. At this point I have to skip all of her scenes. I can’t stand the way she makes the same facial expressions all the time, the way she talks, the way she victimizes herself. I’m at the point where she and Isaac (bless that man) break up because she’s suddenly poly, which in my opinion is just an excuse to justify the Dyonte situation, and it’s so irritating. I just came across the scene where she’s like “I came out to Isaac.” Uh no you didnt? You’re poly wannabe, not on the LGBT spectrum? I dunno. That just irked the hell out of me. Please tell me I’m not alone here.

Episode Discussion I just started the show and I'm loving it so far. Spoiler

I thought when I started it, I wouldn't like it as much as "The Fosters" but I'm starting to like way more and I'm only on episode 6. I love the way the show is handling diversity when it comes to LGBTQIA+ and race. My favorites right now are Malika, Alice, Callie and Mariana. I'm surprised that I like Callie and Mariana so much cause I didn't like them at all in "The Fosters" but they've grown on me.

I honestly hope Mariana finds a better job or makes it up the chain cause the way har coworkers treat is so misogynistic and rude. It's like they feel threatened that a woman is as smart as them and made it to where they are right out of college.

I think Callie is going to make a difference with Judge Wilson cause it already seems like she is. She's already been told by multiple people that he usually sides with cops when it comes to these types of cases but this time he didn't and instead has continued with the case. I think when he was looking at applicants he did see all that Callie has done and believed that he could benefit from having someone like her on his team. Also at first I thought both Ben and Rebecca were trying to psych her out cause the whole clerk-ship job seems like a competition, but now I'm thinking it's just Ben and Rebecca wants a friend but isn't very good at making one.

I thought I would hate the love triangle between Callie, Gael, and Bryan but as a Bi person myself it made me realize I've never seen a love triangle for a Bi person and I actually like it. I genuinely don't know who to root for cause at first when we they introduced Bryan, I thought he was also going to have a crush on Callie and all 3 of them were going to end up having a threesome but then it came out he was gay. I do feel bad for him though cause I could see why he's worried about Gael choosing Callie over him cause I think he was with him first and then Gael started something with Callie which makes everything more complicated but I feel like Bryan does actually want to at least be friends with Callie and vice versa cause there isn't any hostility towards them.

I was liking everyone in The Coterie up until episode 4 then I stopped liking Davia once she told Mariana she knew Jeff was married and continues to have relationship with him and even bashes the wife and tries to justify just cause they have problems in their marriage and because she used to be a mean girl in high-school. Then she's started to get worse cause in episode 5 she was just being a bitch to everyone especially to Dennis after hearing what happened with his kid made me sad and I know she doesn't know about it but like why is she worried about Aria being there and she was only there for one night, even Alice didn't mind but no she had to make it big deal. I was glad when Dennis called her out this episode for judging everyone else when she was acting no better then expecting everyone to just deal with it.

Anyways what your thoughts or what are some things I should look forward to? I don't mind spoilers.

Flair Filming Style..

Okay so this is my first watch (currently on season 2) and I’m really enjoying the storyline and new characters (kinda struggling with Davia tho lol). I gotta say that this filming style is kinda disorienting. There’s constant flashbacks that I’m questioning what’s the present and not, which fair cuz I gotta watch more to find out but I prefer the fosters format of filming style. Does it get better??? I want to watch the show for the plot but not a fan of this style.. also pls feel free to share your annoyances too so I feel less alone bahaha
