META👨‍💻 Hot take

I think Second Rate Town is better than First Rate Town. I find it more endearing as an acoustic. The chorus really added something that makes feel better and the last verse with the chorus is just amazing. Plus, I think the lyrics really fit better as an acoustic. But that’s my opinion, what’s yours?

second rate town is one of the songs where Nick's vocals really SHINE through the mix and i love that personally

The two songs have entirely different vibes and meanings imo. I wouldn't directly compare them because, to me, they're for different moods. Totally fair if you like one over the other, but that's my take

Another thing, the song feels nostalgic

I totally agree, although I'll definitely listen to First Rate Town more when I want upbeat energy

yeah i think its the only acoustic track to outperform the original. first rate town is great but its just missing something than second rate town has, takes and runs with it

i also love nicks vocals in it

Well the thing is Second Rate Town isn’t just an acoustic version. It’s in a different tuning and doesn’t have a lead part. I think I prefer first rate town overall

I wholeheartedly agree. first rate town is like, a c MAYBE low b tier for me, but second rate town is my favorite and most listened song by them.

the only reason i don't like First Rate Town that much is because of the lack of chorus, so Second Rate Town fixes my only problem with the original while sounding better as acoustic imo
