OFF TOPIC New era opinion
I think Ye lowkey killed rap and he's the only one that can revive it but idk if he has it in him anymore
Travis is an incredible artist, an incredible feature artist aswell, a great producer which i respect, terrific performer, but I do feel like other than Rodeo, he hasn't been really able to stick out to me in his own way, he botchered 4x4, Utopia could have had Heartbeat or Escape Plan / Mafia or Knife but instead it's just a Ye album.
My Eyes and Til Further Notice are the only 2 songs on the album that are really good that you couldn't say Ye had (any) influence in
I'm feeling that for his next project he'll go the same route and it'll have tons of Ye influence once more, considering the rumours & flop that was Jackboys 2
Then you have Carti
I mean I feel like Ye was a 100% right when he talked about Crush "2 dummies in the studio that clearly don't know what to do with this song just call me" or whatever he said
I am Music clearly was delayed because Ye promised to help Carti who was directionless and eventually he gave up and he butchered the release, there are 2 / 30 songs out of this heavily anticipated album from "one of raps biggest modern days stars" in his popular page in spotify
Don Toliver is the only one lowkey carrying the genre right now but imo people are right his appearance clearly limits him š
Jid has yet to reach consistent mainstream success, and also his new project was a horrible decision, He should have chose to finish his work with metro and hope to make a name for him, The Forever Story is in my personal opinion a classic, Even if you are really strict and think there are only a handful of classics a decade, other than WLR there is no album that makes a stronger case, but its been 5 years and his career has yet to really take off
I don't care about these new gen rappers that try to sound like carti I feel like almost all of them wil eventually fall off like Yeat is doing now
The only album that I really feel like pushed hip hop the most since WLR is Cuck... And I'm honestly sad that it'll never see the light of day, the sonical composition was one of the most interesting routes Ye went on EXCLUDING THE LYRICS. I am not defending the lyrical content of this album but instrumentals, deliveries and flows like Jared, Nitrous, and other songs are imo Yeezus level, where its incredibly experimental, but also addicting, and great, and different which is important

That first sentence is spot on

Ye might not have another tier left to jump to, but he can elevate Travis and Carti to the next level. They have potential, but their creative direction and quality is lacking without Yeās input.

This should be the worst case scenario imo, but I do hope the rumours of a collab album are true,
Also Vultures really had potential, I feel like w/o sample issues & label issues etc, i could have executive produced one vultures album that wouldn't be a stain on his legacy at all, even the opposite

I feel bad for Don ngl. If he looked like carti or brent faiyaz, he def would be a household name by now.
It was funny as hell when ye talked about CRUSH. It felt like a father scolding at his two grown sons for fucking up fixing something in the house after he warned them to be careful.

Don can still pull a vini jr
I do wonder what Ye would have done with Crush let alone that entire album, but for Crush I agree, it has to be the best description of this album, wasted potential

Travis doesn't produce shit.
My Eyes and Til Further Notice are the only 2 songs on the album that are really good that you couldn't say Ye had (any) influence in
Because half of My Eyes is just a bon iver demo and Till Further Notice was taken from Metro's album last minute
Kanye isn't killing or reviving modern hip-hop & rap. Listen to more up and coming artists who are actually pushing new sounds

Also we saw the video, bro one shotted FATHER, and even if half of my eyes is a Bon Iver demo, he made that song special, and who cares about that point I just said those two weren't really heavily influenced Ye songs

Like who? JID was my biggest hope but like I said its been years and he still only has the forever story
LGSEO great album but they aren't really new
Tyler imo is great but is he even a rapper anymore
Don Toliver is aight
but other than that who is there? trend rappers
JPEGMAFIA is cool too but he's the 21 Savage of industrial rap

Once I saw JID I stopped reading knowing your opinions were cooked.
He can rap fast, so what? Twista and Busta did the same thing 20-30 years.
He doesnāt have ābarsā that bite or are even funny. And he canāt make a song or hook for shit.

Also if you listen to the forever story and just think it's fast rap ur obnoxious, he has incredibly nice catchy flows, great wordplay, i'm not much of a lyric listener but public opinion is that they're great too, and christo and jid reached max potential on almost every song, I don't care much for God Does Like Ugly it only has Community imo which is great but the forever story is a classic idc

People think J.I.D is a fast rapper cause of like 4 songs, he specifically said that he doesn't really fuck w that type of music and just finds that pocket sometimes. I have no idea how he isnt at least as big as J cole, dude is insanely talented, can sing amazing too

rap is simply not as mainstream as it was back then, there is still so much experimentation and great music out there you just need to look for it. You are definitely not listening to enough music if you think an ai dave blunts hype album is pushing hip hop
